The latest batch of free PlayStation Plus games for May 2026 is now available to all subscribers around the world. Anybody who is subscribed to one of the three PlayStation Plus tiers, which include Essential, Extra, and Premium, can now claim three new PS4 and PS5 games that are free to keep forever, as long as they are claimed before June 2 and the user remains subscribed to any of the available PlayStation Plus tiers.
At the beginning of each month (traditionally on the first Tuesday), PlayStation gives those subscribed to any of its three PS Plus tiers some free games to claim. Last month, April 2026, saw fans treated to another Soulslike game as the popular Lords of the Fallen joined the service alongside Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered and Sword Art Online Fractured Daydream. With the release of a new batch of free PS Plus games for May 2026, these titles can no longer be claimed. However, anybody who did claim one or all of the games last month can continue playing them for as long as they remain subscribed to the service.

As of today, May 5, 2026, PlayStation Plus subscribers have some brand-new games to claim, including EA Sports FC 26, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, and Nine Sols. This month, Fallen Feathers is the only title that is exclusive to subscribers with a PlayStation 5, as both Nine Sols and EA Sports FC 26 both have current and last-gen versions available to download. PlayStation previously revealed that it would be removing PS4 games on PS Plus Essential as one of the service’s key benefits. However, that change was supposed to come into effect from January of this year, but subscribers are still receiving both PS4 and PS5 titles every month.

For those who are subscribed to the lowest tier of PlayStation Plus, Essential, EA Sports FC 26, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, and Nine Sols will be the only free games available to play until next month’s titles roll around. For Extra and Premium subscribers, however, there’s plenty more still to come. While the full list of upcoming additions to the game catalog for May 2026 has yet to be confirmed, last month saw the likes of Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, The Crew Motorfest, Football Manager 26 Console, Warriors: Abyss, and more added to PS Plus Extra for April 2026. These titles are still available to play, with more additions expected in the coming weeks.
Unfortunately, new additions to the game catalog each month are usually accompanied by some removals. While the confirmed additions for this month are unconfirmed, PlayStation has revealed that a total of five games are leaving PS Plus Extra in May 2026. Control: Ultimate Edition, The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan, Soul Hackers 2, Sand Land, and Mortal Shell: Enhanced Edition will all be removed from the service on May 19. As the game catalog does not work in the same fashion as the monthly Essential games, subscribers won’t be able to play them once they have been removed from the catalog.

Thankfully, fans have another big month in store from today. EA Sports FC 26 is the latest installment in EA’s massively popular football simulator, with a generally favorable review score of 77 on Metacritic. For those looking for something a little more action-oriented, one of last year’s big Soulslike titles, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, will give players a real challenge. But if that wasn’t enough, Nine Sols features Sekiro-inspired combat with a rich lore and hand-drawn style in this critically acclaimed 2D action-platformer.
