The Cryo Archon, Tsaritsa, has finally been revealed in Genshin Impact, along with a few other Snezhnaya characters. Snezhnaya will be released on August 11, 2026 (or August 12 for players outside the American time zone), so it makes sense that the devs are starting to tease the characters that players will meet in the upcoming Genshin Impact region.

Since the release of Genshin Impact, players have seen the Tsaritsa’s plan slowly come to life. Yet, players didn’t get to see Tsaritsa herself, so this reveal is a monumental event for those who have been following the game since launch. After all, Snezhnaya and the Tsaritsa are meant to be the climax of the story, where players will finally see the ending of the Tsaritsa’s arc.

The Tsaritsa Reveal In Genshin Impact

In the official Genshin Impact video, the devs finally reveal what the Tsaritsa looks like. The five-minute Transcendence Trailer goes from one character to another, showcasing each one’s aesthetic and personality, until it finally reaches the Cryo Archon herself. From her aesthetics, the Tsaritsa will definitely be one of the playable Archons in Genshin Impact. The first words she says are, “And then… The Heavenly Principles spoiled our love.” That’s exactly what every Genshin Impact fan has been waiting for since day one: the face-off between the Tsaritsa and the Heavenly Principles. She later adds, “The real enemy is the blessings given by deluded gods,” before she stands in front of the Ruler of Death, Ronova.

Players have long suspected that the Tsaritsa was the goddess of love, but the trailer revealed that the “love” may refer to a motherly love, instead of a romantic feeling. This is because the teaser shows a child with the Genshin Impact Archon. However, some aren’t convinced by the “motherly love” theory, as there’s little information about the child’s identity, and where they exist in the timeline of the story. Meanwhile, characters like Vodyanitsa, Alyosha, Odette, Valeriy, and Noy, show Snezhnaya in a different light, where it’s hinted that the nation is going through an internal conflict. This matches the line in the Teyvat Chapter Storyline Preview: “She is a god with no love left for her people, nor do they have any left for her.”

However, the most interesting scene is the last one, as it showcases the Tsaritsa making a deal with “Gold” Rhinedottir, the creator of Albedo. Gold gets the final say in the Transcendence Trailer, as she tells the Cryo Archon, “I hope you truly understand the nature of the game you’re playing.” It looks like the Tsaritsa plans to use Rhinedottir to take down Ronova, while Rhinedottir warns her that it’ll take much more to make it happen.
