Highlights

  • Endless team combinations in Genshin Impact allow for unique meme builds based on specific themes or gimmicks, like the Avatar: The Last Airbender.
  • Building a team around the Avatar theme requires using characters with multiple elements to mimic wielding four elements simultaneously.
  • While fun and entertaining, the Avatar-themed team composition is not considered meta due to its inefficiency in high-difficulty content.

Given how many characters there are in Genshin Impact by now, there are almost limitless combinations that players can use for team compositions. Even so, no two team compositions in Genshin Impact are ever alike.

With the right team compositions in Genshin Impact, players can make builds that are pure meme material, often sacrificing certain strengths to make teams built around a specific gimmick or spectacle. Such is the case for this particular meme build inspired by Netflix’s adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Genshin Impact’s Avatar: The Last Airbender Build Explained

In Avatar: The Last Airbender, the Avatar is the sole character who is capable of mastering all four of the universe’s natural Elements: Air, Earth, Fire, and Water. Each of these four Elements has a counterpart in Genshin Impact, except there are a total of seven Elements in Genshin Impact. While it’s not quite possible for players to simultaneously wield all seven Elements in Genshin Impact at once, players can still build a team that can wield four Elements, like the Avatar.

This build only relies on the natural abilities of each member of the team, so it’s not necessary to invest in any particular Artifacts, character constellation upgrades, or weapons in Genshin Impact. These buildcrafting tools will naturally make this build more effective in higher-level activities, but this build isn’t exactly designed for endgame content anyway, so players may want to save their resources. Otherwise, players who want to try this build for themselves only need to have access to a specific set of characters in Genshin Impact.

Team Composition

  • Wanderer
  • Beidou
  • Thoma
  • Xingqiu

The one compromise that makes this team composition work is that none of the currently available Geo characters in Genshin Impact would fulfill the role of an Earth-bender in this situation. However, by using Beidou, players can still create a ‘master of four Elements’ team composition by substituting Electro for Geo.

With the 5-Star character Wanderer as the main character of this team composition, using the other character’s Elemental Skills will allow Wanderer to simultaneously wield four separate Elemental damage types. This is possible because Wanderer already deals Anemo damage, and the other characters’ Elemental Skills each provide additional Elementals to other party members’ attacks that won’t conflict by overriding any existing Elements.

This build is quite a spectacle to behold for fans of Avatar: The Last Airbender, but it’s ultimately more of a meme than a viable build because of how off-meta it is. So while this team composition won’t hold up in Genshin Impact’s Spiral Abyss, it’s still a fun build that serves as a testament to the crazy team compositions that are possible in Genshin Impact.

The primary weakness of this build is that casting every party member’s Elemental Skills will only give players a brief moment to wield four separate Elements.

Not to mention, activating multiple Elemental Skills will require a lot of energy, so the long buildup to pull off this gimmick only results in a short window of opportunity. Additionally, players won’t have much control over which Elemental reactions will be occurring while all of these Elemental Skills are active, so things can get chaotic. Another fundamental weakness of this build is that it lacks a proper healer. Compared to other healer characters in Genshin Impact, Xingqiu alone generally isn’t capable of providing sustainable healing to a full team.

While there are ways to account for the shortcomings of this build, these will generally require players to make compromises that will undermine the appeal of this build being able to wield four Elements in the first place. Consequently, this build is best regarded as a meme for Genshin Impact instead of a sustainable build for high-difficulty content.
