It’s increasingly likely that the highly-anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6 will have big reveals in store for the month of August. Grand Theft Auto 6 is perhaps the most highly-anticipated new game release of all time, and this is despite the fact that Rockstar has revealed barely anything about it in the grand scheme of things. In the years since it was originally announced, Rockstar has only released some screenshots, character descriptions, the Ultimate Edition content, and a mere two trailers for fans to dissect.
The wait for GTA 6 Trailer 3 has been an agonizing one, but it seems like it may nearly be at an end. Previously, Rockstar Games parent company Take-Two Interactive said that GTA 6 marketing would ramp up in the summer, and since July came and went with hardly any news, it stands to reason that the blitz will finally get underway in August.

The latest GTA 6 update comes from proven leaker NateTheHate, who said on Twitter that they expect to see “a fair bit” of GTA 6 in August. NateTheHate also reassured fans that they have “no reason for concern” when it comes to the upcoming game meeting its release date despite the lack of a proper gameplay showcase. But NateTheHate’s claim on social media isn’t the only reason why it seems like the next big GTA 6 announcement is nearly upon us.
It was noticed by iGrandTheftAuto on Twitter that there have been backend changes to the GTA 6 website recently. The last time a change like this was detected, GTA 6 pre-orders went live shortly thereafter. While it could simply be a coincidence and might not necessarily mean anything, combined with NateTheHate’s claims about GTA 6 updates in August, it does seem highly likely that fans will be getting something within the next few weeks. Whether that’s Trailer 3, a gameplay showcase for single-player, or even the long-awaited reveal of the multiplayer mode is anyone’s guess.
GTA 6 fans should certainly keep their expectations in check, but there is cause to believe that the game’s expected August update is going to come sooner rather than later. Take-Two’s next financial earnings call is scheduled for August 7, and it will be hosted in the morning before markets open. This has led some to speculate that GTA 6‘s next update will happen before that date. It would make a lot of sense for GTA 6 to drop a new trailer or showcase in the days ahead of the earnings report, but it remains to be seen if that will happen.
All we know for sure about the future of GTA 6 is its release date. Unless an unexpected delay occurs, the GTA 6 release date is set for November 19 across PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles. The latest information from leakers and reliable insiders is that GTA 6 is on track to meet its November 19 release date, and so fans shouldn’t stress too much about the possibility of a delay. Still, they should always prepare for the worst and hope for the best. Regardless, more information on GTA 6 should finally be coming in August.
