Grand Theft Auto 6 developer Rockstar Games and publisher Take-Two Interactive have updated the upcoming open-world crime game’s media library with two new pieces of artwork, ahead of its extended look in August. It’s uncertain if these two new pieces of artwork and the extended look are all fans are getting this month, but hopefully that’s not the case—despite the extended look taking place in late August.

Ahead of Take-Two’s August earnings call, the two aforementioned companies announced Grand Theft Auto 6: An Extended Look premieres exclusively on Netflix on Thursday, August 27, at 12 PM PT/3 pm ET. As of this writing, fans have roughly three weeks to wait and see what comes out of the extended look, but fans are hoping/expecting everything from a new official story trailer and GTA 6 gameplay to developer interviews and actor reveals. Whatever it shows, it’s clear that expectations are sky-high, but at least there’s some new artwork to look at right now.

New GTA 6 Artwork

Alongside the announcement of this Extended Look, Rockstar and Take-Two updated its media library (which was scarce prior to GTA 6‘s pre-orders opening) with two new images: one with a logo, one without. Interestingly, it shows protagonist Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos in net, more common outerwear in front of a Vice City skyline and gas station. The nearby car is likely theirs, but it’s clearly busy with a truck in the background. There is a good chance that this is the gas station the two are seen robbing in one of GTA 6‘s trailers because the media library lists the images as “robbery.”

GameRant Quiz

If this is the case, then perhaps there are plenty of petty robberies ahead for the pair, or perhaps this initial gas station robbery serves as a major beat for GTA 6′s story. It’s possible, for example, that this crime is where Jason and Lucia go their separate ways for a time before being reunited when Lucia gets out of jail, as seen in the story trailer too. Of course, this is some speculation since the GTA 6 story timeline has yet to be established, but seeing an image titled “robbery” with a gas station in it is certainly a choice—especially when accompanying the Extended Look announcement.

For now, fans are essentially still being asked to wait. GTA 6‘s marketing was confirmed, ahead of time, to take place this summer, but the summer has thus far been uneventful aside from the pre-orders. Perhaps it’ll be a whirlwind of news after that, if Rockstar doesn’t reveal much more ahead of time, but hopefully that Extended Look utilizes the full definition of “extended.”

Regardless, GTA 6 is all but guaranteed to sell like hotcakes. Most estimates put GTA 6 making around $3-5 billion within the first week of its release, and other games are avoiding releasing too close to it around November as a result. When the entire gaming industry is bending over backward to not be cannibalized by GTA 6, that’s saying something.
