Supergiant Games has shared the contents of the next Hades 2 update, which will serve as the second follow-up to Post-Launch Patch 2. Despite being marked as a hotfix, the upcoming release is anything but small, being set to introduce well over 40 changes to Hades 2.

The sequel to the critically acclaimed roguelite ARPG Hades left early access in late September 2025, launching to near-universal critical acclaim and similarly strong user reviews. Since reaching version 1.0, the game has received several post-launch patches and multiple hotfixes. Its latest such release reached Hades 2 players as Post-Launch Patch 2 in mid-April 2026.

It’s Official: Mewgenics Has Beaten Hades 2

In a surprising turn of events, the newly released and already massively popular Mewgenics has the iconic Hades 2 beat at its own game.

Hades 2 Getting Large Batch of Bug Fixes and Balancing Changes Soon

Supergiant is set to follow that release with Post-Launch Patch 2 Hotfix 2, described as a major batch of minor fixes and adjustments aimed at giving the game another layer of post-launch polish. Its 40-something changes are headlined by Dream Dives tweaks, including a higher chance for Shops to offer Hades 2 Boons and a slight increase to Gold earned from encounters when Tartarus or the Summit appears as the first or second region. Likewise, the updated version of the mode will have slightly reduce the total Life of several particularly punishing bosses, consequently making Dream Dives runs slightly more manageable on average.

The upcoming hotfix will also deliver a broad set of targeted fixes for Boons, keepsakes, weapon upgrades, and other run modifiers. Several address build-specific interactions, including Braid of Atlas failing to boost most Olympian Cast effects, Hazard Boom not damaging Melinoë as intended, and Proper Upbringing remaining active after its element requirement is no longer met. Other corrections cover harder-to-read mid-run issues, including Anvil Ring being interrupted by Death Defiance, Success Rate appearing in cases where it should not, and persistence problems tied to Chaos Trials and Oath effects. Several fixes aimed at Hades 2‘s Daedalus Hammer are also on the way.

The second Patch 2 hotfix will also make a sizable number of presentation, UI, and narrative-timing fixes. Among other things, it promises to address issues with multiple conversation triggers that could occur sooner than intended, rare instances of incorrect portraits appearing, and out-of-context voice lines playing in specific Unrivaled encounters during randomized runs in the Dream Dives mode. Separately, the upcoming patch will introduce fixes for image scaling and input issues, such as letterbox artwork remaining visible at certain resolutions after interacting with the Music Maker and a bizarre bug that could lock Melinoë into a sprinting animation if the player closed the Steam Overlay by clicking its X corner button. Some stability improvements targeting rare crash scenarios will also be included.

Patch 2 Hotfix 2 is first planned to debut on PC before making its way to the recently released PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S ports of Hades 2, as well as the ARPG’s Switch 2 version. While the roguelite may still receive further balance updates and bug fixes, major content drops appear unlikely, as Supergiant previously indicated that the bulk of its development work would end with the 1.0 release. So far, the San Francisco-based studio has stuck to that plan.
