Heated Arc Raiders Debate Between PvE And PvP Players Goes Viral

A clip of a PvE player tracking down a PvP player in Arc Raiders to threaten him for the crime of killing him in a video game is going viral on X at the moment, mostly because players are confused as to why someone would play a game with PvP if they didn’t want to potentially engage in…PvP.

While I couldn’t track down the original source of the clip in question, if there even is one, the post that’s getting the most attention was made by ARC Raiders Informer on X. The clip has blurred out the usernames of the two players, which is probably for the best, considering that the PvE player does cross a bit of a boundary by stating that they “can’t wait to see” the PvP player “in real life.”

While the legitimacy of the interaction has been called into question, with many noting that it appears to be staged, it has sparked a conversation about the mentality of those who play multiplayer games that allow you to kill other players but don’t wish to engage with that aspect at all. “Do people just play Arc Raiders all day and not pvp?” replied user @GuapoGary_. “Not trying to be mean just curious. Like if you are mad at pvp in an extraction shooter why not play like Helldivers?? Maybe I just don’t get it.”

“If you buy a PvPvE game and are shocked when people PvP…then I’m sorry to say you are playing the wrong game. The [aggression-based matchmaking] is what has turned me off from even trying Arc Raiders,” replied content creator CAMIKAZE78, referring to the way the game aims to group PvP-focused players with like-minded folks and do the same with those who approach the game more as a purely PvE experience. “The whole premise of these games is the chance interaction and stories that produces. Mechanics like AGBMM just makes it an artificial experience by comparison. It also produces really crappy mentalities like the one on display here.”

They gotta remove Aggressive based match making what the fuck kind of players are they breeding over there bro… https://t.co/6gQnJLSVWO

Although I couldn’t track down the origins of the clip, I did end up stumbling upon a couple of Arc Raiders bounty boards during my search. The bounty boards appear to be almost identical to the one that appeared for Marvel Rivals back in February, though they seem unrelated. Some members of the Arc Raiders community have asked in the past for Embark Studios to incorporate a bounty system into the game, which explains why some folks are salty enough to have taken things into their own hands.
