Developer Arrowhead Game Studios has just officially revealed another content roadmap for Helldivers 2. This latest content roadmap gives fans an overview of what’s coming to Helldivers 2 between now and December 2026, including a general look at three big updates coming soon.
Upon its debut in February 2024, Helldivers 2 was met with a very warm reception from critics, with the co-op PvE shooter earning a Top Critic Average of 83 on OpenCritic. Helldivers 2 was also a hit with general audiences, officially selling 20 million copies by January 2026, thanks in no small part to its later release on Xbox consoles. In the 30 months since launch, Helldivers 2 has received seven major updates, well over 40 general updates, and many more patches, delivering new enemy factions, new maps, new weapons, new Stratagems, and new Warbonds to the sci-fi game. Some of those Warbonds have even featured official collaborations with fellow sci-fi IP like Halo, Killzone, and most recently, Warhammer 40,000.
Helldivers 2 Releases New Content Roadmap for August 2026
Posted to Twitter, developer Arrowhead Game Studios has just unveiled a new content roadmap for Helldivers 2. The first portion of the roadmap graphic offers an overview of Helldivers 2‘s latest major update, the 7.0 ‘Devoid of Liberty’ update that released on August 12. This Illuminate-themed update added a new biome to Helldivers 2, a new enemy type, a new environmental hazard, a time-limited event, new missions, a new legendary Warbond, and SEAF NPCs that aid during combat on specific missions.

The rest of the recently released Helldivers 2 content roadmap details the updates coming to the co-op game over the next four months. The next Helldivers 2 update will land sometime in September and will bring a new Warbond to the game, and “two new rewards.” It’s currently unclear what these rewards will be or what the theme of the Warbond will be. A bit more information is given for the Helldivers 2 7.2 update, which will arrive in October and bring new missions, a new biome, a new enemy type, one new reward, a Galactic War Event, and a Liberty Day Event to the game.
The final Helldivers 2 update slated for 2026 is the 8.0 update that’s arriving sometime in December. Though no official details have been announced just yet, this will be another major update in a similar vein to the recently released Devoid of Liberty update. It’s very likely that new mission types, enemies, and biomes will be introduced in Helldivers 2‘s 8.0 update, though that’s purely speculation at this point based on what’s been included in prior Helldivers 2 major updates.
Along with these three upcoming updates, the new Helldivers 2 content roadmap lists a series of “Evergreen” features that will presumably be added throughout the rest of 2026. These include unnamed quality-of-life improvements, both new and ongoing campaigns, campaign rewards, “and more.”
