How Dream Islands Work In Pokemon Pokopia

Pokemon Pokopia’s story tasks you with exploring and restoring map areas for Pokemon, but you can also take trips away to other islands. Pokopia’s Dream Islands are useful locations to visit if you want to gather more resources, and all you need to do is find some dolls for Drifloon. In this guide, we’ll explain how to meet Drifloon, find Pokemon dolls, and explore these Dream Islands.

How Dream Islands work in Pokemon Pokopia

Dream Islands work much like the ones you can visit in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The islands are randomized locations, and you can visit a fresh island every day. This lets you gather additional map resources, such as rope, fruit, sticks, and even some rare metals. You also want to make sure your personal inventory has plenty of room for scavenging.

You can only visit one island per day, but you can revisit that same island until the day resets. This means if you use the Eevee doll one day, you can only go back to this specific island. You’ll have to wait until the next day to use a different doll such as Pikachu.

To get started with Dream Islands, you’ll need to find Drifloon and at least one Pokemon doll.

How to find Drifloon

Drifloon can be found in Withering Wastelands. If you’re facing the Pokemon Center, turn left and head toward the sea. The first time you visit, this direction will be blocked off with some blocks you’ll need to break, and this will give you access to the west shoreline. You’ll find Drifloon wandering somewhere near the water.

Drifloon will request a home. You can build the habitat by putting three campfires side-by-side and having Charmander light them. Speak with Drifloon once the habitat is finished. This interaction will grant you a new quest: Get Drifloon a Pokemon doll.

Each doll corresponds with an island type. Each type carries three specific items, but you want to explore thoroughly and also look for Pokeballs, Relics, CDs, Stardust, and more.

There are several different types of Dream Islands (each with their own materials) to gain access to. Each one requires a specific Pokemon doll. Below we list all the dolls and how to find them:

  • Found in the wild
  • Purchased from the shop
  • Found randomly in Pokeballs

Eevee

  • Eevee offers the Wastelands Dream Island
  • Resources: Leppa berries, vine, mushrooms

In Withered Wastelands, turn right when you’re standing in front of the Pokemon Center. There is a soft wall on the right that can be broken away. You may’ve already done this and found the gate to the next area. Regardless, pass through where you break the wall and turn right. There’s a glowing block you can break. This will reveal an Eevee doll.

Pikachu

  • Pikachu offers the Ocean Dream Island
  • Resources: Twine, sea glass, shells

Pikachu is found near the starting area of Bleak Beaches. Head down the stairs to find two small huts on either side of the path. Pikachu is in the building on the right.

We’ll update this guide with more doll locations as they are discovered.

Use Drifloon to go to an island

Make sure to have the doll you want to use in your inventory. Give it to Drifloon, and the Pokemon will offer to take you to an island. Make sure to select “I want to go to an island” in the dialogue options.

Drifloon will then drift you away to the island. You can speak with Drifloon again when you are ready to leave the Dream Island.
