Who Is Eligible to Receive Free Dumb Ways to Die Items in Fortnite
Fortnite gave players who purchased the Dumb Ways to Die game on mobile the Fortnite cosmetic bundle for free. However, since the game was offered for $0 as part of a limited-time offer, many players were able to claim the Dumb Ways to Die cosmetics in Fortnite without actually buying it.

This exploit has now been patched, meaning that if gamers claim Dumb Ways to Die while it’s free, they will not receive any Fortnite items. It is possible those who purchase Dumb Ways to Die once it’s no longer free will be able to take advantage of this offer once again, but we will only be able to test this once it expires on January 22, 2026.
If this offer returns, players will be able to claim Dumb Ways to Die cosmetics in Fortnite by purchasing the game on the mobile Epic Games Store and downloading it. This will be directly associated with their Epic Games account, meaning they should be able to get the free items in Fortnite.

Dumb Ways to Die Items in Fortnite
Due to the error that made it possible for players to claim the Dumb Ways to Die cosmetics for free in the Item Shop, they have now been removed. It is unknown when they will return, but they will most likely only come back once the product is no longer available for free on the Epic Games Store.
There are two items in the Dumb Ways to Die bundle in Fortnite:
- Dumb Ways to Die Emote – 500 V-Bucks
- Botch back bling – 600 V-Bucks
Players can get these items separately, but they can also obtain the Dumb Ways to Die bundle for 600 V-Bucks, making one of the items essentially free.
