It’s Official: Resident Evil’s Ada Wong Returns “Soon”

Since the release of Resident Evil Requiem, fans have been curious about Ada Wong’s whereabouts, and she has now been confirmed to appear in a 2026 release. Unfortunately, it’s unlikely to address the biggest question regarding Leon Kennedy and Ada Wong’s current relationship.

Ada Wong’s absence in Resident Evil Requiem is telling, or at the very least, it’s concerning. She has appeared in every major Resident Evil game to feature Leon (RE2, RE4, and RE6), but she’s conspicuously absent during the events of the latest game. Of course, Resident Evil Requiem DLC is still slowly rolling out, with a major story one reportedly dropping sometime after Resident Evil: Code Veronica‘s remake release, so fans may expect to see her in the game in the next year or so. However, for fans hungry for more Ada Wong before then, she’s headlining a collab alongside Leon Kennedy.

Resident Evil Requiem Developers Say This is Why Ada Isn’t in the Game

The developers behind Resident Evil Requiem sit down to discuss the game, and offer an explanation for why Ada Wong isn’t in the game.

Ada Wong Returns Soon

Arena: Breakout Infinite, a free-to-play tactical extraction shooter, recently announced it was collaborating with Capcom’s Resident Evil IP, with the above art of Leon Kennedy and Ada Wong as “coming soon.” Unfortunately, as far as official details go, that’s pretty much it. Rumors suggest that the crossover is releasing on July 24, and if so, fans can expect information before then. Rumors also suggest that the extraction gameplay loop is being retooled to fit a biohazard scenario, though the company has not confirmed this. Arena: Breakout Infinite developer and publisher Morefun Studios is expected to provide new details soon, either way.

It’s worth noting that this crossover has been rumored for a few weeks now, so its confirmation in the recent Steam announcement has had plenty of hype behind it. Fans of the Resident Evil games may have missed it, however, but hopefully they’ll be able to check it out. Arena: Breakout Infinite is free-to-play, after all. For the uninitiated, players enter dangerous combat zones to search for valuable loot, complete objectives, and eliminate enemy operators before making it out alive. Dying means losing the gear brought into the match, while successful extractions allow players to upgrade their weapons, customize loadouts, and prepare for even tougher battles. The Resident Evil collab is obviously a bit of gamified fun, but it does strive for realistic weapon customization and squad-based gameplay.

At large, it’s like Escape from Tarkov with a bigger focus on having an accessible experience for all players. So, even if Resident Evil fans find they prefer survival horror games to extraction shooters, they might not struggle as much as they’d expect. It’s worth a try at least.

Arena: Breakout Infinite is available on PC via Steam.

While it’s nice to see Ada Wong in a video game in the year of the lord 2026, it’s obviously not the video game some fans would hope for. Hopefully, Resident Evil Requiem‘s plans for Ada Wong, on the assumption it has any, go over smoothly too and don’t require players to wait for too long.
