Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis developers Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog have revealed that AI tools were used in the game’s early development. Serving as a remake of the first game in the series, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis follows Lara Croft early in her career. The game was originally set to be released later this year, but will now arrive on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2 on February 12, 2027.
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis appeared in the PlayStation State of Play, where it received a significant focus. Following the showcase, the Steam page for the game was updated, and now includes an AI Generated Content Disclosure. The disclosure is fairly brief, only stating that AI was used “to support some early exploration and temporary development content.” It also notes that all assets created using AI have since been “replaced or refined by humans.”
