LEGO Fan Turns Popular Board Game Into Fully Playable Build With Minifigures

LEGO Fan Turns Popular Board Game Into Fully Playable Build With Minifigures

A LEGO fan shared a custom build that turns a very popular board game into a playable LEGO kit, complete with minifigures. LEGO is all about creativity, be it in terms of how fans play with their kits or what they can make with the iconic Danish bricks. This is true to the extent that LEGO Ideas takes fan-designed builds and transforms them into sets that hit store shelves, such as what happened with the highly popular LEGO D&D set, Red Dragon’s Tale.

Unfortunately for fans, the D&D set is on the list of LEGO sets retiring on July 31, so it will soon become unobtainable. For those who enjoy playable sets, though, there are still plenty of options. For example, August 1 will mark the release of the new Donkey Kong Arcade LEGO set that debuted recently on Amazon and the LEGO store for pre-orders, as it comes with playable controls to throw barrels and jump around like the old arcade game. Those who instead would prefer a full-fledged board game in LEGO version are in luck, as a new MOC (My Own Creation) from a fan provides just that.

July 31 is a Doomsday Scenario for 118 LEGO Sets

LEGO fans who have been waiting for the right time to buy their dream build may want to act fast, because July 31 marks the end of a lot of sets.

Custom LEGO Labyrinth Board Game Build

A LEGO fan by the name of Next-Sentence1345 shared a post on Reddit with 3D concept images of the board game Labyrinth turned into LEGO version with existing parts, playable tiles, and minifigures. Labyrinth is a very popular board game from 1986, in which players randomly build a maze at the start of the game, then receive cards with symbols on them, and have to traverse the maze to collect the matching icons. The symbols used in Next-Sentence1345’s build are the same as some versions of the Ravensburger game, with tiles being removable to place randomly, just like the original. The custom LEGO build also features the ability to slide tiles on the board.

In fact, Labyrinth forces players to slide tiles along the arrows on the board by using a spare tile, which is pushed into the maze at one end, while the tile at the opposite end is pushed out and is used by the next player. The objective is to collect all the symbols on one’s cards and then travel to one’s tower. Since the maze is constantly shifting, players may be pushed off the board and repositioned according to the rules. Playable LEGO builds are often some of the most popular, and this could be a great set to replicate. For example, a fan transformed LEGO’s Star Wars Venator set into a KOTOR Ebon Hawk ship with playable interior, which shows how fun it can be to move bricks and minifigs around.

So far, Next-Sentence1345 has not replied to any comments and has not shared further details about the build or instructions on Rebrickable. As such, it’s not possible to easily recreate it, but fans can take a look at the MOC pictures and try their best to recreate the game on their own if they so wish. To make the wait easier, fans can take a look at some of the best board games to play in 2026, even if they’re not LEGO.

It’s also worth noting that a lot of new sets will be released shortly, as early as August 1 for those who participate in the Insiders Program. Among them are the new X-Files LEGO set revealed just a few days ago, tons of Smart Brick and classic Pokemon sets, and more.
