Diablo 4 players have discovered a way to get tons of Gold very quickly in Lord of Hatred. This method involves the use of Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred‘s new Talisman and Charms feature to grant the player a massive increase in their Gold drop rate. However, some players believe that this buff is so insane that it has to be unintentional and will eventually be patched out.
Blizzard recently released patch notes for the next Diablo 4 update, scheduled to go live on May 13. Included in these notes are a variety of fixes for various bugs, including re-enabling the Spiritborn’s Armored Hide’s Trampled Under Foot skill variant and the Uniques, The Umbracrux and The Oculus. The patch includes some nice quality-of-life changes for the Talisman and Charms feature, such as a new sound for when a Set Charm drops and a distinct icon on the minimap, but no indication that this broken Gold farm is going to be fixed in this update, so players should take advantage of it while they can.
Diablo 4 Players Are Calling for QoL Endgame Change
One Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred endgame feature has come under scrutiny from fans who want to see it balanced in a future update.
Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred’s Best Gold Farming Route Gives Players a 900% Boost
- Practiced Technique — +900% Gold Drop Rate
The key to getting mass amounts of Gold in Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred is taking advantage of the Practiced Technique Charm Set. Having at least three Charms of this set equipped in Diablo 4‘s Talisman gives players a 25% increase in Gold dropped. Practiced Technique Charms are fairly easy to obtain, and most Diablo 4 players will likely already have a few if they’ve completed Lord of Hatred’s campaign, since these Charms drop on pre-Torment tiers.

While a 25% Gold drop increase doesn’t sound like a lot, there is a way to add another huge boost to the player’s Gold drop rate to this set. Having a Legendary Horadric Seal with the Practiced Technique affix adds another Set Bonus that grants players +900% Gold drop rate. In order to obtain this Legendary Horadric Seal, players can use Diablo 4‘s Horadric Cube to re-roll their Legendary Horadric Seals with the 3-to-1 recipe, sacrificing three Seals to get a new one with a random affix. Players simply need to keep repeating this process until they get a Seal with Practiced Technique as an affix.
A 900% boost to Gold drop rates can quickly earn players enough currency for any sort of Crafting, Tempering, Masterworking, or other endgame gearing they will need by running an activity like Nightmare Dungeons. Some players are skeptical that such a high Gold drop rate was an intentional part of this affix, believing that 9% was likely the intended number. However, this affix doesn’t appear to be affected by Diablo 4‘s upcoming patch, so either it is intentional, or the developers are not aware of the issue yet. As such, players should take advantage while they can to stock up on Gold for the endgame grind.
The drawback of this Diablo 4 Gold farming method is that it requires players to unequip their current Set Charms. With Lord of Hatred removing passives from the Skill Tree, Charms are the primary way players add passive abilities to their builds. While the Practiced Technique Charms are great for farming Gold, they don’t necessarily synergize with Diablo 4‘s class-specific Charms, which could leave players severely underpowered on higher Torment tiers.
