Love And Deepspace's Steamy Bath-Themed Event, Lingering Lust, Has Us Feeling Anything But Clean

Love And Deepspace's Steamy Bath-Themed Event, Lingering Lust, Has Us Feeling Anything But Clean

The debate over Love and Deepspace’s age rating is almost as hot as the game’s five love interests. Though Love and Deepspace’s official website states the game is not intended for players under the age of 13, select countries have opted to raise that number in recent months. In developer Infold Games’s home country of China, the game is currently listed as intended for audiences 18 and older. After seeing the game’s next event, Lingering Lust, I’m left wondering if more countries might soon follow suit.

Running from April 30 to May 15, Lingering Lust looks to be one of the steamiest events in LADS history, perhaps even giving Nightly Rendezvous a run for its money. During the two-week-long event, players will be able to earn five 5-Star memories–one for each love interest–as well as five corresponding outfits that are unlocked once players get a memory to Rank One.

All five of Lingering Lust’s memories take place in a hot bath, in which one of the game’s love interests–Xavier, Zayne, Rafayel, Sylus, and Caleb–awaits you, drenched and eager to know you a bit more intimately. Each memory–[Xavier: Sunken Glow], [Zayne: Silent Underflow], [Rafayel: Rippling Blossoms], [Sylus: Darkbound Souls], and [Caleb: Vinesurge Instinct]–has its own steamy teaser trailer, which can be viewed on the official Love and Deepspace Instagram account.

Upon starting the event, players will be prompted to select three love interests whose memories they are most interested in attaining; the drop rate of these memories will be significantly increased, with each 5-Star memory drop now having a 75% chance of being one of the three the player has chosen. After the event ends, all of these memories will no longer be attainable and will not join the permanent wish pool. Here’s a quick look at the event’s cumulative wish rewards:

Lingering Lust Cumulative Wish Rewards

  • 25 – Universal Headwear [Foamy Dream]
  • 50 – Deepspace Wish: Limited (5)
  • 75 – Memory-themed Outfit
  • 100 – Deepspace Wish: Limited (5)
  • 125 – Memory-themed Outfit
  • 150 – Deepspace Wish: Limited (5)
  • 175 – Memory-themed Outfit
  • 200 – Player may select one of five Lingering Lust-exclusive memories
  • 225 – Memory-themed Outfit
  • 250 – Deepspace Wish: Limited (5)

For those unfamiliar with Love and Deepspace’s wish system, Deepspace wishes–the currency used to unlock the game’s premiere memories–can be earned by playing the game as well as purchased for 150 Diamonds. Though earning Deepspace Wishes is a very rare occurrence, Diamonds are fairly easy to earn in-game and can be farmed by completing Main Story stages, Core Hunt stages, Hunter Contest stages, Hunter Training, Deepspace Trials, and Bounties. Players also earn Diamonds when they complete achievements, level up their hunter, and finish daily and weekly quests. And though it might require a bit more work, pulling and upgrading memories from the game’s Wish Pool is also a viable way to earn the currency.

Naturally, it will always be faster to simply buy Diamonds via Love and Deepspace’s in-game store, but that method can quickly turn expensive and addicting. My advice for those keen on keeping LADS as close to free-to-play as possible is to play often, save early, and spring for things such as the game’s 30 day Aurum Pass–which nets you 3,000 Diamonds across 30 days for $5 in addition to many other rewards–rather than making several smaller purchases every few days.

In the less than two and a half years since its release, Love and Deepspace has become a global phenomenon and one of the most popular otome games ever made. Earlier this year, the game celebrated its two-year anniversary with an exclusive pop-up event in New York City, where it announced it had officially hit 81 million players worldwide.
