Naughty Dog’s highly praised game, The Last of Us Part One, is set to receive a brand-new release with a hefty price tag that can go as high as $2,399. What most The Last of Us players would want to see is likely the dedicated multiplayer spin-off. However, this upcoming release is something completely different, and it is probably something only the most diehard fans would want.
The Last of Us franchise has been a gift that keeps on giving since its initial launch, with remastered editions, a comic book miniseries, a boardgame, and even a live-action adaptation that have generated millions of dollars for the studio. And now, almost 13 years after the first installment, fans still have something new to look forward to.
The Last of Us Gets New $2,399 Bloater Diorama
Japanese manufacturer Prime 1 Studio has revealed more details about its upcoming $2,399 ultimate bonus edition diorama of The Last of Us Part One‘s Bloater. The base was unveiled back in June as part of the company’s Real Elite Masterline collection and was priced at $1,799. However, Prime 1 Studio recently revealed more details about the ultimate bonus edition, which will come with several additional parts, including a background stand with built-in LED lighting and a new swappable head. The manufacturer expects to ship both the standard and ultimate editions sometime between December 2027 and March 2028.

The Last of Us Bloater Statue Details
The ultimate bonus edition of the Bloater diorama is limited to just 350 units, and Prime 1 Studio says only a few pre-order spots remain at the time of writing.
The new diorama takes inspiration from The Last of Us Part One‘s Chapter 4, where Joel, Ellie, and Bill encounter a Bloater enemy for the first time. During the scene, the creature breaks into the high school’s gymnasium through an unbarricaded door. And Prime 1 Studio’s added “doorway” piece recreates this exact moment.
The Bloater statue is part of a three-piece collection, with the other two dioramas depicting Joel and Ellie from the first installment of The Last of Us. Each statue is sold separately, and those looking to collect all three should be prepared for a hefty bill that could exceed $4,000 USD.
Prime 1 Studio states: “Faithfully brought to life through realistic sculpting and paintwork, the Bloater stands as a terrifying tribute to one of the game’s most intense moments.” The newly revealed damaged head also lets fans recreate an intense battle scene from The Last of Us Part One when paired with Joel’s statue. However, some details about the upcoming release are still unclear and need clarification from the manufacturer. For example, Prime 1 Studio hasn’t revealed the power source for the built-in LED in the background piece. The exact release date is also subject to change.
