A new single-player 3D driving game named Slow Roads recently made its Steam debut and already sits at an “Overwhelmingly Positive” review score. The game showcases relaxing gameplay and various Forza-like features, and Steam users can currently enjoy it at a limited-time discount.
While it is not difficult to find games similar to Forza, few titles manage to capture the unique experience of driving around incredible landscapes. Topograph Interactive’s Slow Roads offers just that. A web version of the game was originally released in 2022, but Slow Roads officially launched on Steam on September 23, 2026. It has since received a warm response from players, and the developer has already teased what lies ahead in future updates.

Slow Roads‘ official page describes it as a relaxing driving game for players who enjoy casual traveling on the road. It features endless, beautiful roads through procedurally generated scenery. It also lets fans choose from a varied vehicle list, from coupes to buses and even motorcycles. Players can set the cockpit view to sim-style driving as well, and the Steam version offers support for traditional and wheel controllers. “Simple proposal, simple game, simple fun – driving,” reads one user’s encouraging review. The developer explained that Slow Roads is intended for cozy, simple motoring, but the game also lets gamers speed up to 190 mph and go off-road.
Slow Roads also lets fans customize their vehicle’s color, wheels, plates, and more. To make each run unique, the game lets fans change the location, weather, time of day, and traffic density in landscapes that are inspired by the real world, resulting in a more realistic driving experience. One location is even based on the moon. Additionally, some Steam-exclusive features include a music interface from local files or radio stations, profile setup, progress saving, and milestone achievements. Slow Roads‘ full price is $7.99, but fans can purchase it at a 10% discount until October 7 for $7.19. A free demo with the game’s main features is also available for players who wish to test compatibility and gameplay first.

Topograph Interactive added that no generative AI was used in Slow Roads‘ development, emphasizing the game’s hand-drawn textures and real-life recorded sounds. The developer has already confirmed what lies ahead in Slow Roads‘ future as well. The Steam version will eventually receive force feedback support for wheel controllers and new locations. Enhancements for weather effects and environmental details are also in the works. According to the developer, these upgrades will come as free patches instead of paid DLCs, though the game’s base price may increase.
