Developer Keepsake Games has confirmed that Jump Space, a co-op PvE space shooter, is coming to PlayStation 5 soon. Formerly known as Jump Ship, the game has been available on PC via Steam since 2025 and has earned around 86% positive player reviews as of this writing. Jump Space remains in early access, and Keepsake Games appears to be planning its PlayStation 5 release before the game’s 1.0 launch.
Jump Space‘s PS5 announcement may come as a surprise to fans of sci-fi co-op games, as Keepsake Games previously said that the console port would launch alongside the game’s 1.0 release. More specifically, the team said, “For now, you can assume that early access and these content updates will continue for all of 2027, with PS5 and crossplay coming once we hit 1.0.” However, plans appear to have changed, and PS5 players may get to enjoy the game much sooner than expected.
Jump Space Is Coming to PS5 in Q1 2027
During a special announcement stream, Keepsake Games confirmed that Jump Space will launch on PS5 in the first quarter of 2027. “We are committed to launching this thing within four months,” one of the developers said, while also revealing plans for a major update in December 2026. Jump Space‘s PS5 version won’t support crossplay at launch, but the developers did note that “Crossplay is definitely on our checklist as well.” Fans who want to stay updated on the game’s release can already add it to their PlayStation Store wishlist.

Find the odd one out before the timer hits zero.
For those unfamiliar with the game, Jump Space is officially described as “a mission-based co-op PvE for 1–4 players, where you are the crew of a spaceship.” Players take control of a spaceship and explore different regions in search of loot. Combat features both spaceship dogfights and on-foot encounters similar to those in first-person sci-fi shooters. Jump Space also lets players unlock bigger and better ships, upgrade their gear, and improve their spaceship’s utilities, all of which play a major role in progression.
Jump Space also supports solo play.
Jump Space is designed for co-op play, with each crew member assigned a specific role that’s essential to operating the spaceship and completing missions. Beyond hostile enemies, players must also deal with other threats that can disrupt interstellar travel. For instance, they may need to put out a fire in the ship’s cockpit or repair an important module while alien robots attack. That said, Jump Space also supports solo play, making it a solid option for lone wolves looking for a single-player shooter set in space.
Fortunately for PS5 users, Jump Space isn’t the only co-op game they can look forward to playing soon. Several other highly anticipated titles are also confirmed to be coming to the console. Those looking for a more realistic FPS experience, for example, can wishlist Squad on the PlayStation Store. It’s a realistic war simulation featuring massive PvP battles. For those who prefer a fantasy setting, Smalland 2: Lost Realms may be a better choice. It supports co-op sessions with up to 10 players and features interesting base-building and combat mechanics that survival game fans might appreciate.
