A follow-up report from a gaming industry insider laid out Blizzard’s possible plans for revealing and launching the Nintendo Switch 2 port of Diablo 4 throughout the coming weeks. As of this writing, Diablo 4 is currently available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox consoles, though the contents of each port are identical.
The new leak came just two weeks after details about Diablo 4‘s potential Switch 2 port first made the rounds on social media. According to Dealabs reporter and gaming industry insider billbil-kun, Diablo 4 on Switch 2 was stated to launch sometime in mid-September. At the time, billbil-kun could not guarantee a precise release date. Additionally, it was unclear whether the Switch 2 version of Diablo 4 would just be the base game to start or if the port would also include the Vessel of Hatred and Lord of Hatred expansions as an all-in-one package.
More Details About Diablo 4’s Switch 2 Port Come to Light
Though rumors about Blizzard’s plans should be taken with a fine grain of salt, a new leak has shed more light on Diablo‘s possible return to Nintendo consoles. According to a Dealabs follow-up from billbil-kun posted on August 17, Diablo 4‘s Switch 2 port is said to be Diablo 4: Age of Hatred Collection, which includes the base game and both expansions. Additionally, billbil-kun claimed that Diablo 4 on Switch 2 would launch on Tuesday, September 15. The report stated that Blizzard plans to unveil the Diablo 4 port during the upcoming Gamescom Opening Night Live broadcast, which airs on Tuesday, August 25, at 2:00 PM Eastern.

The updated leak also reaffirmed that Diablo 4: Age of Hatred Collection would not be released on the Switch 2’s Game-Key Card format. Instead, physical Switch 2 copies of Diablo 4 will be shipped as a code-in-a-box that can be redeemed on the Nintendo eShop by only one user. Ergo, it will be impossible for users to sell or trade Diablo 4: Age of Hatred Collection after the fact. Diablo 4: Age of Hatred Collection will be priced at $69.99, which is the same MSRP as other platforms that the compilation is currently on. Details about Diablo 4‘s technical performance on Switch 2, including Handheld Mode and Docked Mode, were not revealed as of this writing.
The report also stated that pre-orders for Diablo 4: Age of Hatred Collection on Switch 2 would open on Saturday, September 12, during the first day of BlizzCon 2026. The upcoming BlizzCon 2026 event will give fans a glimpse at what’s coming for Blizzard and its gaming franchises. Ergo, attendees can expect updates on the Warcraft, Overwatch, and Diablo franchises to be shown throughout the two-day event in Anaheim, California. Fans can also tune in to the BlizzCon 2026 opening ceremony for free via Blizzard’s official Twitch and YouTube channels.
While Blizzard has not officially confirmed if it will be at Gamescom yet, other Xbox Game Studios subsidiaries have announced plans to attend the Cologne expo. Playground Games previously confirmed that Fable will have a playable demo at Gamescom that attendees can try out. It remains to be seen if Blizzard will follow suit with Diablo 4 on Switch 2.
