A brand-new Attack on Titan release is officially coming this winter. The Attack on Titan manga ended five years ago, and the critically-acclaimed anime series wrapped up its fourth and final season back in 2023. Despite the Attack on Titan story having concluded years ago, it remains one of the most popular franchises in the world, and fans are hungry for more.
It was announced at Summer Game Fest 2026 that a brand-new Attack on Titan video game is in development. Titled Attack on Titan 3, the new game is a follow-up to developer Omega Force’s Attack on Titan and Attack on Titan 2. Since Attack on Titan 2 released all the way back in 2018, many fans of the franchise had given up hope that Attack on Titan 3 would ever materialize, but it’s real, and it now has a solid release window.

Attack on Titan 3 Gameplay Trailer
Shortly after announcing Attack on Titan 3, publisher Koei Tecmo confirmed that an Attack on Titan Scouting Report event would take place in July. The event revealed an Attack on Titan 3 gameplay trailer, and it also confirmed that the game will be released this winter. A more specific release date is unavailable at the time of this writing, but this means that Attack on Titan fans can most likely look forward to the new video game launching at some point between December of this year and February of next year. It’s also possible that the game will slip into the early weeks of March, but that remains to be seen.
Who’s That Character?

Attack on Titan 3 will retell the anime’s story from beginning to end. Players will be able to create their own character and interact with some of the most famous Attack on Titan characters, from Eren Yeager to Levi Ackerman. The social element appears to play a big role in Attack on Titan 3, as players will be able to participate in one-on-one conversations with various characters, give them gifts, and more. The main focus will be on the action, of course, and there should be plenty of that throughout the game.
Fans of the Attack on Titan anime who may usually not be particularly interested in the video game may also want to check out Attack on Titan 3. It was confirmed that the video game will eventually have a brand-new opening animation from MAPPA, directed by the anime’s Arifumi Imai. The original animation will not be in Attack on Titan 3 when the game launches, but it will be added for free as a post-launch update.
Those interested in Attack on Titan 3 should note that the game will be available for PC, PS5, Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S when it launches this winter. Those that can’t wait for Attack on Titan 3‘s release to play a video game based on the series have a variety of other options, including the first two Omega Force AoT games and a well-received VR take on the series.
