Digimon fans should circle July 15 on their calendars, as Digimon Up will officially be released worldwide on supported mobile devices. The upcoming free-to-play Digimon title from Bandai Namco will allow players to battle, raise, and Digivolve some of the franchise’s most recognizable digital critters, such as Agumon and Gabumon.

Digimon Up was first revealed in March 2026 during the Digimon Con 2026 global broadcast. A trailer described the upcoming Digimon mobile title as a journey that moves with each player’s daily life. Digimon Up will feature detailed 2D sprites of various Digimon characters, including monsters and tamers alike. Digimon Up will launch as a free-to-play title on Android and iOS devices, with the latter requiring an iPhone capable of running iOS 15 or newer.

Digimon Up Finally Arrives on July 15

Months after Digimon Up was unveiled, Bandai Namco stated that Digimon fans would not have long to wait to experience the upcoming title. Digimon Up game producer Kimi-P shared a video on social media to confirm that Digimon Up would go live on Wednesday, July 15 in Japan. However, Digimon fans outside Japan may be able to play Digimon Up as early as Tuesday, July 14, depending on their local time zone. A pre-registration campaign for Digimon Up is currently underway on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Kimi-P stated that, should Digimon Up reach one million pre-registrations, Taichi Yagami (Tai Kamiya) and Agumon from the classic Digimon Adventure anime would be distributed as a present for players to claim.

As of this writing, several Digimon Up pre-registration incentives have already been met. These include currencies, such as Bits and Summon Tickets, along with Gekkomon from the Digimon Beatbreak anime as a partner that players can claim for free. Given that Digimon Up will be a free-to-play title, it is currently unclear what kind of microtransactions Bandai Namco will implement into the game. Digimon Up‘s pre-registration window will continue until the game’s launch. As of this writing, interested Digimon fans have approximately a week to reach the incentive to claim Tai and Agumon.

In Digimon Up, players can customize their tamer avatar and pick one of 15 Rookie-level monsters from Digimon‘s long history as their first partner. These options include Agumon, Veemon, Guilmon, and several other digital companions that Digimon fans have come to expect. Several gear options will be available for each player to customize their Digimon tamer avatars with, though it remains to be seen what those options will be.

However, the pending launch of Digimon Up is not the only release that the Digimon franchise will see this July. Starting July 10, Digimon Story: Time Stranger will be available on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch consoles. As one of the top RPGs of 2025, Time Stranger‘s arrival on Nintendo consoles will include the base game and all current DLC content. A patch for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of Time Stranger will also be available in the coming days that will include Performance Mode and Quality Mode frame rate settings.
