Harry Potter: Defenders of Hogwarts is an asymmetric deckbuilding board game for 2-5 players. Those defending Hogwarts can choose to represent Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, or Hufflepuff, while another player controls the Dark Forces invading the magical school. Players get to explore a board game version of Hogwarts castle, utilizing various spells and abilities that have been well-established in the franchise. Those defending Hogwarts have the goal of securing two Defense Shields, while the Dark Arts player has to collect all Dark Arts Path tokens if they want to secure victory for themselves.
Those interested in donating to the Harry Potter: Defenders of Hogwarts Kickstarter should note that there are three tiers to choose from. The Defender tier costs $78 and includes a copy of the game and a Kickstarter-exclusive art print. The Guardian tier costs $154 and includes the game, the art print, a deluxe box sleeve, a wooden token upgrade set, a player pin set, and a protective card sleeve set — all Kickstarter exclusive. The $374 Collector tier comes with all of that plus the Collector’s Box. Set to arrive in March 2027, the Collector’s Box includes a metal player pawn upgrade set, a Dumbledore’s Army upgrade set, a luxury token bag, and a signed artist’s portfolio. Everything in the Collector’s Box is Kickstarter exclusive.
