Los Angeles-based label Milan Records has released a new soundtrack EP featuring music from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Songs of the Past. Available across a variety of streaming platforms, the mini-album gives fans an early taste of the tracklist from the upcoming The Witcher 3 expansion.
CD Projekt Red officially announced Songs of the Past just ahead of The Witcher 3‘s 11th anniversary in late May 2026. The third paid expansion for one of the most successful open-world RPGs of all time is planned to hit the market sometime in 2027.

As part of the expansion’s growing marketing campaign, CDPR has partnered with Sony music Entertainment subsidiary Milan Records on a new EP featuring music from Songs of the Past. Running approximately 13 minutes across five tracks, the release features compositions by Magda Urbańska, Daniel Elms, and longtime Witcher composer Marcin Przybyłowicz.

The EP opens with Urbańska’s “Return to the Path,” followed by “Awoken,” Elms’ “Into Darkness,” Przybyłowicz’s “What’s Done,” and Urbańska’s “Belleteyn Night.” At just over five minutes, “What’s Done” is the EP’s longest composition. Coincidentally, it also provides the clearest direct connection to the original game, as Przybyłowicz was one of the principal composers behind The Witcher 3.

Songs of the Past Soundtrack EP Debuts Just Ahead of Free Witcher 3 Remaster
The EP follows the first substantial public showcase of The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past at Gamescom 2026, where CD Projekt Red offered an early look at the 2027 expansion and the first glimpse of Lettenhove, the new region Geralt will explore throughout the upcoming adventure. The soundtrack is also arriving just days before another official The Witcher 3 release: CDPR’s comprehensive remaster of the 2015 RPG and its initial pair of premium DLC. Alongside visual enhancements, modernized tutorials, equipment transmogrification, and improved menu navigation, the remaster will feature combat and traversal refinements, revamped mount handling and monster behavior, skill tree and looting system reworks, an expanded photo mode, cross-platform mod support, and new accessibility options, among other changes. The new version of the acclaimed RPG will additionally support path tracing, ray reconstruction, Nvidia DLSS 4.5, AMD FSR 4, and Intel XeSS 2.0 on PC.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered will also include both Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine at no additional cost to owners of the base game. CDPR’s decision to effectively give away roughly $20 worth of DLC as part of the remaster may be an act of generosity, but it could also serve as a calculated marketing move, reminding fans of the scope and quality they can expect from the studio’s paid expansions.
