Everlast: Undying Tale is an open-world action RPG on Steam with MMO elements, set to enter early access on October 28. The game has already undergone multiple playtests and has a free, time-limited demo available as part of Steam Next Fest on PC.
Developer InSpades initially planned to develop Everlast as a full-fledged MMORPG. The team even launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the project, but ultimately decided to scale back and develop an MMO-lite game instead. Everlast is considered an MMO-lite because the EA version appears to lack some of the defining features of MMORPGs, such as raids, dungeons, a complex economy system, and PvP.
Everlast: Undying Tale Comes with 100-Player Servers
- Genre: Open-World, Fantasy, RPG, MMO-lite
- Developer: InSpades
- Release Date: October 28, 2026 (Early Access)
- Platforms: PC via Steam
Despite being more of a co-op action RPG, Everlast will support up to 100 players on its public servers at launch. Even better, players will be able to participate in shared events and challenges. One example is “Desolate Zones,” which the developers describe as server-wide missions that all players can contribute to. Once completed, these missions restore parts of the map, allowing the entire server to benefit from the changes.
InSpades describes Everlast as a love letter to RuneScape and classic MMORPGs. The team has spent over three years preparing the game for its early-access launch and takes pride in its “hand-painted” open-world map, created by talented 3D artists. At the time of writing, InSpades plans to keep Everlast in early access for about a year, during which it will continue to update the game and add new features. However, this timeline could change depending on player feedback and the game’s overall performance.

Based on the development roadmap first shared during the Kickstarter campaign, Everlast could receive several interesting features in the future. For example, the team initially planned to add a housing and base-building system that would let players construct small towns across the shared map. InSpades also wanted to introduce a pet system, roguelike game modes, and PvP dueling. However, it remains unclear whether the team is still following the original roadmap or has changed its plans.
Features officially confirmed for Everlast‘s early-access release include 16 skills and professions, PvE combat, dynamic world events, and a fantasy story with quests that players can complete together. Fans of action MMORPGs should note that the game’s Steam page does not mention raids or dungeons at the time of writing. However, future updates could add these features to the game.
The free playable demo for Everlast: Undying Tale will be available during Steam Next Fest, which runs from October 19 to October 26, two days before the game’s official early-access release.
