New PS Plus Extra and Premium Games for April 2026 Are Available Now

PlayStation Plus subscribers have some brand-new games to download, as the Extra and Premium game catalog has officially been updated today, April 21, 2026. Unfortunately, those who are only subscribed to the service’s lowest tier, PlayStation Plus Essential, won’t be able to check out the new batch of games for April 2026, which includes the likes of Football Manager 26 Console, Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, and The Crew Motorfest, all of which are now available to Extra and Premium users.

Today’s PS Plus update is great news for Extra and Premium subscribers, and although Essential users can’t check out the new additions for April 21, there are some free games available to claim now until Tuesday, May 5. Each month, all PlayStation Plus subscribers are treated to some free games that can be kept forever, as long as they are claimed within the alloted window and users remain subscribed to the service. For those who haven’t checked them out yet, the free PS Plus Essential games for April 2026 are Sword Art Online Fractured Daydream, Lords of the Fallen, and Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered.

Extra

  • Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered (PS5)
  • The Crew Motorfest (PS4, PS5)
  • Football Manager 26 Console (PS5)
  • WARRIORS: Abyss (PS4, PS5)
  • Squirrel with a Gun (PS5)
  • The Casting of Frank Stone (PS5)
  • Monster Train (PS5)

Premium

The latest batch of PS Plus Extra and Premium games are available now in the UK and Europe, with a US release arriving in the coming hours.

The games available on PlayStation Plus’ Extra and Premium tiers continues to grow, as a new update on April 21 has officially added seven new Extra games and one new Premium title. For those subscribed to the former, the following games are now available to download: Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, The Crew Motorfest, Football Manager 26 Console, WARRIORS: Abyss, Squirrel with a Gun, The Casting of Frank Stone, and Monster Train. As for Premium users, the PlayStation 2 classic, Wild Arms 4, is now available as part of the tier’s classic catalog. Unlike the monthly Essential games, Extra and Premium titles cannot be claimed permanently and are only available to play for as long as they are part of the game catalog.

Undoubtedly the standout addition for this month is Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, which is available to PlayStation 5 owners. Those who are still making use of their PlayStation 4 will still be able to embark on Aloy’s adventure, but not with the remastered version of the game. Instead, PS4 users who are subscribed to PS Plus Extra or Premium will be able to download Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition, which includes various bonus digital content and the Frozen Wilds DLC.

Unfortunately, with new games being added to the service today, there are also some titles leaving PS Plus Extra and Premium on April 21. The beloved indie game Dave the Diver will be unavailable for PS Plus subscribers from today, along with Disaster Report 4: Summer Memories, EA Sports PGA Tour, Lost Records: Bloom & Rage, Spitlings, and TowerFall Ascension. There’s always the chance that some, or all, of these games could return to the service in the future, but those who haven’t checked out any of the aforementioned titles will need to either wait for them to possibly return, or outright purchase them.

For anyone based in the UK who plans on checking out the newest PS Plus Extra and Premium games for April 2026, they will soon need to ensure they have verified their age for their PlayStation account. Whether it’s PS4 or PS5, Sony is now complying with recent changes to UK law and forcing its users to verify their age to continue using various social features, such as messaging, voice chat, and more. While playing games will not be affected by the requirement, the company now joins fellow competitors such as Valve and Microsoft to enforce age requirements within the UK.
