Dragon Ball fans may be getting new releases focused on Goku Black and Jiren soon, should recent datamines prove to be accurate. Of course, given the popularity of these two Dragon Ball villains, it shouldn’t be surprising.

The Dragon Ball Super manga has been on hold since Akira Toriyama’s unfortunate passing in 2024, but other aspects of the franchise have continued on to honor him as well. The Galactic Patrol arc anime adaptation is in the works, for example, and many fans are currently looking forward to the movie remake of Beerus’ initial arc from Dragon Ball Z/Dragon Ball Super. Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 is giving gaming fans a glimpse at their future as well, and now, another game in the franchise is putting Goku Black and Jiren in the spotlight.

Dragon Ball: Gekishin Squadra Season 6 Adding Goku Black and Jiren

As first reported by known Dragon Ball reporter Hype, NockCS’s datamines of Dragon Ball: Gekishin Squadra have heavily suggested that two of Dragon Ball Super‘s biggest characters—Goku Black and Jiren—are coming soon, well before the end of Season 6. Fans know that Dragon Ball: Gekishin Squadra Season 6 introduced Beerus and launched recently, so Goku Black and Jiren are not far behind. It seems, although it is not outright confirmed, that Goku Black arrives first and then Jiren a little later. Neither fighter has been officially confirmed by Bandai Namco as of this writing.

Dragon Ball: Gekishin Squadra Season 6 recently launched with Beerus joining the roster as a playable character, alongside a new Divine Draw, additional Helpers, and Yakon as a new boss. Adding Goku Black and Jiren later in the same season would make it one of the game’s biggest seasonal releases yet, especially considering both characters rank among the most popular additions introduced during Dragon Ball Super.

Of course, fans should remember that this information comes from a datamine rather than an official announcement. Game files often contain content that’s still in development, and developers can delay, modify, or even cancel those plans before they’re revealed publicly. Until Bandai Namco confirms anything, these characters should be treated as reported additions rather than guaranteed releases, but as a live-service Dragon Ball game, it is more likely that Goku Black and Jiren will be added to the roster, as replacing them could potentially harm the season.

Even so, the discovery has already generated excitement throughout the Dragon Ball community. Assuming Goku Black and Jiren do arrive before Season 6 ends, Dragon Ball Gekishin Squadra will continue building one of its strongest post-launch content lineups yet. Now fans are simply waiting to see whether Bandai Namco makes the announcement official, and hopefully that happens sooner rather than later.
