New World of Warcraft and Dungeons & Dragons Crossover Leaked

New World of Warcraft and Dungeons & Dragons Crossover Leaked

A new World of Warcraft and Dungeons & Dragons crossover appears to have leaked ahead of Gen Con 2026 after Roll20 briefly published promotional material for an unannounced product. World of Warcraft remains one of the most influential MMORPGs ever made, with a fantasy setting that already shares many qualities with traditional tabletop role-playing games.

Blizzard’s World of Warcraft has already had a long history with tabletop role-playing games, dating back to Warcraft: The Roleplaying Game in 2003, using D&D‘s third-edition framework. After that, World of Warcraft: The Roleplaying Game launched in 2005 using the 3.5 ruleset, adapting Azeroth’s races, classes, monsters, factions, and magic systems to the TTRPG format. Neither game was officially published by Wizards of the Coast, however. Both also predate D&D’s current version of Fifth Edition and lack much of the lore Blizzard has added to WoW over the past two decades. A new leak suggests a contemporary version of a World of Warcraft TTRPG is coming after 20 years, as Dungeons & Dragons collabs help it expand beyond its traditional settings.

World of Warcraft Adding Viral Jimothy The Raccoon as Companion Pet

Blizzard reveals that Jimothy, the short-spined raccoon taking over social media, is coming to World of Warcraft as a companion pet.

World of Warcraft and D&D Crossover Leaked Through Roll20

The apparent crossover first surfaced when RPG outlet EN World spotted and preserved a listing on Roll20, which was reportedly advertising preorders for a product simply titled D&D World of Warcraft. The listing displayed artwork and branding for both franchises, using the tagline “Roll for Azeroth,” and was rapidly deleted by Roll20, but not before screenshots started circulating throughout the tabletop community. As of now, neither Blizzard nor Wizards has confirmed what this project is, but the preorder language and Roll20 listing make a sourcebook or campaign product seem plausible.

While fans should temper expectations until an announcement is made, World of Warcraft‘s Azeroth could add tons of options to D&D and open up entirely new campaign possibilities. A full sourcebook could potentially introduce great playable options, like Night Elves, Draenei, and the Forsaken, along with some of World of Warcraft‘s most recognizable locations, including Stormwind, Orgrimmar, Northrend, and the Dragon Isles. With over 20 years of established material, Azeroth is as good a candidate as any to support multiple D&D adventures.

This apparent collaboration would also fit nicely into Wizards of the Coast’s growing interest in bringing established properties into its tabletop games. D&D has previously seen small-scale collaborations with Stranger Things, Rick and Morty, and Minecraft, while Magic: The Gathering crossovers have expanded its reach with major video game industry names like Final Fantasy and Fallout. The scale of this reported product remains unknown, but a full Azeroth setting would be one of the larger crossovers D&D has done lately, and would unite two of the most recognizable RPG brands across two massive fan bases.

Fans should stay tuned for Wizards of the Coast’s D&D Vision Keynote on July 30 at Gen Con 2026. If there is any announcement about a D&D and World of Warcraft crossover, it will likely be there. Until then, fans should keep their expectations in check regarding scale, product type, or whether this might be the start of a larger line. If the leak is accurate, D&D World of Warcraft may give players a new way to explore Azeroth with newfound freedom, free from quest markers and the limits of established stories.
