New Xbox Console and Controller Officially Revealed

At the Xbox Games Showcase 2026, CEO Asha Sharma and her team gave the world its first look at the next iteration of the Xbox Series X/S consoles, the Xbox Series X25, alongside a brand new controller. Accompanying it were major reveals for games like Gears of War: E-Day, Fable, Doom: The Dark Ages, Hellblade, and more. What’s clear is that this Xbox Games Showcase has been firing on all cylinders.

However, it should be noted that the Xbox Series X25 is not the same thing as the Xbox Project Helix. For those unfamiliar, Xbox Project Helix is the next generation of consoles, reportedly releasing in 2027. It will be the next era of Xbox consoles, while the X25 is a celebration of the past.

All Big Upcoming Xbox Games For 2026 & Beyond

We will be getting plenty of new Xbox games in 2026, ranging from massive open-worlds to deep RPGs and indie darlings. Here are their release dates.

New Xbox Series X25 Console

The Xbox Series X25 is a special 25th anniversary of Xbox edition of the Xbox Series X, focused on the more classic green associated with the Xbox brand. Instead of black, it features the same type of translucent material that fans know and love, as the controller does as well. No price was mentioned, likely owing to the memory crisis that has seen Xbox Series X consoles hike in price (alongside all gaming hardware), but it is releasing in November 2026 for a limited time. Fans should be sure to quickly claim one whenever pre-orders open. Chances are, the price won’t be confirmed until pre-orders are taken simply to deal with ongoing pricing issues.

No doubt, this is the latest and grandest effort to take Xbox back to the iconic branding it once had. Sometime in the late 2000s/early-to-mid 2010s, minimalist branding became a selling point for most major companies around the world. Think the McDonald’s of your youth versus buildings now because of the resale value and just branding & marketing efforts. Sometimes it seems backward, but going backward for Xbox is a good thing.

Not only is this latest special edition a grand re-release for the Xbox brand, but a lot of its branding is heading in that direction, too. For example, it’s officially “XBOX” now, even if no one will write it that way. There is a new start-up sound that feels more like the classic heydays of Xbox, and most importantly, perhaps, a brand new Xbox logo beyond the basic black and white one. This is a big win for Xbox to see that it’s not just talk, but action, with this release.

It’s worth noting that a lot of this rebranding effort is being led by new Xbox CEO Asha Sharma. At this point, it’s unlikely that she spearheaded the ideas driving the Xbox Series X25, but she may have extended it in the best way possible, all to say, “This is XBOX” and “this is our future.” And it’s looking like a good future with respect for the past.
