Nintendo Switch 2 Has 6 Big Games Releasing in July 2026

Nintendo Switch 2 gamers have six big releases to look forward to in July 2026, and should mark their calendars accordingly. Nintendo has been sure to support the Switch 2 with regular releases this year, as nearly every month has had a new Switch 2 exclusive drop. That momentum will continue in the months ahead, with Nintendo recently sharing its big plans for the Switch 2 for the rest of 2026.

Earlier in June, Nintendo hosted a Nintendo Direct event that highlighted a variety of upcoming games in development for its latest home console/handheld hybrid. The Nintendo Direct revealed release dates for previously-announced Switch 2 projects and ended with the official reveal of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake. The Ocarina of Time remake doesn’t have a release date yet, but is expected to drop at some point in November. In the meantime, there are plenty of exciting Switch 2 releases coming soon to help tide fans over.

New Official Switch 2 Console Bundle Confirmed for July 2

Nintendo is releasing a new Switch 2 bundle on July 2 for certain regions, meaning now is the perfect time to fans to upgrade to the new console.

List of New Nintendo Switch 2 Games Coming Soon

  • Digimon Story: Time Stranger – July 10
  • Moss: The Forgotten Relic – July 16
  • Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game – July 23
  • Final Fantasy 10/10-2 HD Remaster – July 23
  • Splatoon Raiders – July 23
  • Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition – July 30

The six highest-profile games coming to the Switch 2 in July are Digimon Story: Time Stranger on July 10, Moss: The Forgotten Relic on July 16, Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game, Final Fantasy 10/10-2 HD Remaster, and Splatoon Raiders all coming on July 23, and Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition on July 30. Digimon Story: Time Stranger and Final Fantasy 10/10-2 HD Remaster are ports of games that have been available for quite some time, but it will still be nice to have native Switch 2 versions readily available.

Moss: The Forgotten Relic is a compilation of the two Moss games, which were previously VR-exclusive titles. The Moss games earned critical acclaim in their VR format, and it will be interesting to see if that translates to the more traditional release that’s on the way for July 16.

Rhythm Heaven Groove is releasing for the OG Switch on July 2. It will be playable on Switch 2 through backward compatibility, but it is not getting a native release for Nintendo’s newest console.

Of course, the headlining new Switch 2 game for July 2026 is undoubtedly Splatoon Raiders. Splatoon Raiders is a campaign-focused Splatoon spin-off with co-op support that looks like it will be a fresh way to experience the franchise while fans wait for the inevitable Splatoon 4.

And finally, there’s Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. The latest Nintendo Direct confirmed that the Xenoblade Chronicles games are coming to the Switch 2, with the first game already available on the platform. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 will be making its debut on July 30, with the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 on deck for December 3. At that point, all the Xenoblade Chronicles games will be available to play natively on Switch 2, which should give fans plenty to do while they wait to learn more about the Switch 2 exclusive Xenoblade game, Xenoblade Genesis.
