Nvidia Is Selling a Five-Year-Old Graphics Card Again

Adrian has been writing, critiquing, and thinking about games since he first picked up an N64 controller many years ago. These days he writes reviews, news, and features for Game Rant and believes games should be held to the same artistic standards as books, movies, and television shows. When he’s not writing for Game Rant, Adrian writes even more reviews for Sirus Gaming and likes to get nerdy about tech and retro games at HackerNoon. Outside the gaming world, he spends plenty of time enjoying movies or listening to every genre of music under the sun. Follow him on Twitter for nonsense tweets likely related to Dragon Ball Z, or check out Breadhouse Records for some tunes.

After discussions earlier this year about reintroducing older GPU SKUs to the market amid the current tech shortage, Nvidia has begun selling the RTX 3060 again, but its price may catch some customers off guard. Nvidia is currently at the forefront of the AI craze, with its impressive software and GPUs that include AI-centric Tensor cores.

Prices for Nvidia 5090 GPUs are skyrocketing

Nvidia 5090 GPUs Are Getting Way More Expensive, and It’s Only Going to Get Worse

Going rates for Nvidia 5090 GPUs skyrocket above its already steep retail price amid the RAM supply crisis, and it doesn’t look like it’ll end soon.

Multiple outlets and customers have spotted the RTX 3060 on Newegg for $339.99, a $10 bump over its original launch price. While the card may be out of stock at the time of this writing, PCPartPicker reports that the Gigabyte WINDFORCE OC GeForce RTX 3060 12GB card was in stock as of June 25 and stayed in stock until June 30. This version of the RTX 3060 also appears to be Rev2.0, which is the revision in which Nvidia implemented hash rate restrictions back when Ethereum mining was the big tech craze. Nvidia has not issued an official statement on the return of the RTX 3060, nor is there a date for when stock will return, but there have been reports that European customers are finding 3060s in stock, suggesting that more stock may be on the way soon.
