Ocarina of Time Gameplay First Look Leaked for September 2026

New leaks are hinting at Nintendo’s plans for the first gameplay trailer for the remake of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, teasing a trailer for late Summer 2026. Nintendo first revealed the remake of Ocarina of Time during its June Nintendo Direct presentation.

The Zelda franchise’s first fully 3D adventure is often seen not only as one of the pinnacles of the series, but gaming as a whole. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time has regularly topped fan polls ranking the best games of all time, and has seen numerous rereleases since its 1998 debut. Ocarina of Time previously received a full remake as one of the headline titles for the Nintendo 3DS, officially launching in 2011 and becoming one of the best-selling games on the handheld console. Now, Nintendo’s newest remake of the beloved Zelda game is rumored to be getting a brand-new trailer in the near future.

Zelda: Ocarina of Time’s Switch 2 Remake Should Go Fully Open World

It’s hard to say just how far Nintendo is going to go with the recently announced Ocarina of Time remake, but it may want to take a big leap.

Ocarina of Time Remake Gameplay May Be Coming in September

As reported by CBR, prominent Nintendo leaker Nash Weedle shared more information about the Ocarina of Time remake. During a recent episode of the Attack the Backlog podcast, Nash Weedle claimed that Nintendo is planning its first-look gameplay trailer for the Ocarina of Time remake on September 9. The leak claims that Nintendo is not planning to share any more information about the remake before the trailer, with a playable demo potentially being made available later in September at Tokyo Game Show. Nintendo has not revealed a firm release date for the Ocarina of Time remake yet, though it is slated to arrive before the end of 2026.

A new gameplay trailer for the Ocarina of Time remake should look to give fans an idea of how the new game will improve on its previous releases. The 3DS remake featured numerous improvements from the original game, including using the touch screen to manage Ocarina of Time‘s items, such as the Iron Boots, to streamline frustrating segments like the Water Temple. The 3DS version of the game also featured gyro input for controlling items like the Bow and Hookshot, with Nintendo potentially recreating the feature using the Joy-Con 2’s motion sensors.

While Nintendo has shared few details about the remake, leaks have already begun to tease elements of Ocarina of Time‘s new release. A leaked listing on Play-Asia may have revealed the pre-order price for the Ocarina of Time remake, listed at $59.99 instead of Nintendo’s typical $70 price tag for new Switch 2 games. An erroneous listing on GameStop also potentially confirmed the start date for pre-orders for the game, listing the remake as available for pre-order starting on August 4 through the retailer.

Leaks surrounding the Ocarina of Time remake may also hint at the future of the franchise. Many leaks about the remake were coupled with early teasers about a new 2D Zelda game in a similar style to Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, potentially featuring Ganondorf as its main protagonist. Similar rumors have also claimed Nintendo is working on the next main-series game, set to be another open-world adventure with a potential “dimension-hopping” theme as its main gimmick. Zelda fans should have lots to be excited about with Nintendo clearly planning big things for the franchise’s 40th anniversary.
