Buyers looking to get a popular Nintendo Switch 2 console are in luck, as Target and Best Buy confirmed that restocks of The Legend of Zelda: 40th Anniversary Edition bundle are planned throughout the first week of November. However, interested Switch 2 shoppers will likely have to act fast before the planned Legend of Zelda edition restocks sell out.
November is an important time for the Zelda franchise, as Nintendo prepares to launch a Switch 2 exclusive remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Though the story and main premise will be similar to the original 1998 release on the N64, the Ocarina of Time remake will make some key changes and offer some new features for players to experience. Aside from updated graphics and movement, Ocarina of Time will include features like the Threads of Time as a way to track progress and compatibility with Zelda Notes.
Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 Restocks Coming Soon to Target and Best Buy

To go with the launch window of Ocarina of Time, Nintendo also released a special Switch 2 console on October 29 that was adorned with the Triforce and other homages to the Zelda series. While restocks are currently sold out across the board, both Target and Best Buy confirmed that new shipments are on the way. Target stated that its restocks of the Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 system would be available on November 5 in stores and November 6 online, though the retailer did not reveal how much inventory it would have. Similarly, Best Buy said it would have restocks available during its Ocarina of Time midnight launch on November 5 at various retail locations. Along with the Switch 2 console, Best Buy added that restocks of the Zelda-themed Switch 2 Pro Controller will also be available at the aforementioned midnight launch.

As of this writing, retailers such as Walmart, Amazon, and the Nintendo Store have not publicly commented on when restocks of the Zelda Switch 2 will happen in their storefronts. After Walmart canceled several Zelda Switch 2 preorders, the retail giant reportedly offered some customers a $519 digital gift card as compensation. Ergo, shoppers who tried to order any Zelda 40th Anniversary items from Walmart that had their orders canceled should reach out to its customer service for potential compensation and further information.
The popularity of the Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 console and accessories even took Nintendo by surprise. According to Bill van Zyll, the Vice President and General Manager of Nintendo’s Latin America branch, the gaming giant underestimated how well received the Zelda Switch 2 console would be with fans across the globe. Van Zyll stated that, while the company considered it a phenomenal response from fans, Nintendo was continuing to work on replenishing inventories of the Zelda 40th Anniversary product lineup. However, Van Zyll did not elaborate further.
As for Ocarina of Time, given that it is expected to be one of the highest-rated games of 2026, excitement over the upcoming Nintendo title continues to climb. With the Zelda 40th Anniversary now in full swing, it remains to be seen what Nintendo has planned for the franchise’s future.
