WWE Stone Cold Steve Austin in Fortnite
Fortnite officially dropped a reveal for Stone Cold Steve Austin coming to the game on April 16. The short video, captioned with a portion of Stone Cold’s tag line “and that’s the bottom line,” shows Steve Austin walking out to his shattered glass intro while explosions and fireworks go off in the background. The Texas Rattlesnake is wearing his traditional jean shorts, leather vest, and knee braces, and can even be seen smashing two cans together before guzzling down the drinks and throwing his fists up in a scene that will be equally familiar and nostalgic for wrestling fans. Some joked that Stone Cold should have been added to the game on March 16 to match his iconic Austin 3:16. Others are excited that Steve Austin will finally be able to face off against his Attitude Era rival The Rock again, thanks to Dwayne Johnson portraying The Foundation in Fortnite.
Prior rumors of Stone Cold getting added to the battle royale also included an alleged leak of Liv Morgan coming to Fortnite, and an in-game skin of the WWE Women’s World Championship contender at WrestleMania 42 would make for another timely reveal. WWE fans are keeping their fingers crossed that Morgan’s announcement will soon follow Stone Cold’s, though there is presently no way of knowing for sure what Fortnite has planned.
Fortnite continues to expand its crossover offerings, ranging from the addition of character skins based on hit franchises like The Simpsons and South Park to a massive partnership between Epic Games and Disney. WWE fans have been repeatedly treated to exciting new content in Fortnite, and the impact of Stone Cold Steve Austin in the battle royale game will no doubt further cement his legacy as one of the most popular superstars in WWE history. Players can stay tuned for the upcoming launch of Stone Cold Steve Austin in Fortnite, as well as potential news on the inclusion of Liv Morgan and other WWE wrestlers in the hit battle royale.
