If a newly sighted ESRB age rating is to be believed, then the post-apocalyptic indie game 1000xResist could be heading to Nintendo Switch 2 in the near future. This leaked Switch 2 version of 1000xResist has been given an ESRB rating of ‘M’, with the official listing citing “Blood, Strong Language, and Violence.”
Developed by Sunset Visitor, 1000xResist first launched in May 2024 for PC and the original Nintendo Switch. Upon its debut, 1000xResist became a major critical hit, earning an impressive Top Critic Average of 90 on OpenCritic, and an astonishing recommendation score of 100%. In the year it released, 1000xResist was the 13th highest-rated game on OpenCritic, coming just below juggernauts like Astro Bot and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. 1000xResist received official PS5 and Xbox Series X/S ports in November 2025.
1000xResist Could be Coming to Nintendo Switch 2
According to a recently spotted ESRB listing, 1000xResist could be coming to another platform very soon. On July 9, a link to the official ESRB website was posted to the r/GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit. Following this link takes you to a brand-new ESRB rating for a Nintendo Switch 2 version of 1000xResist. Given that this rating is new and separate from the shared Nintendo Switch and PS5 rating, it seems likely that a Switch 2 version of 1000xResist could be on the cards. Of course, fans should keep their excitement contained until Sunset Visitor officially announces a port, especially as there’s currently no information regarding a potential release date for the leaked game.

ESRB ratings have become a common place for new games and ports to be revealed ahead of their official announcements. Last year, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero‘s Nintendo Switch 2 port was leaked six months prior to its arrival on the hybrid console, with it receiving an age rating from the ESRB in April 2025. Just last month, new PS5 and Switch 2 versions of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition were also given official ESRB ratings. And that’s just two examples of many from the past few years.
Nintendo Switch 2 Has a Busy Few Months Ahead
While a Nintendo Switch 2 port of 1000xResist would be great for returning fans looking to play on a new console or for newcomers who never got around to trying the acclaimed 2024 title, an imminent release would be putting the game up against some fierce competition. A release this month would see 1000xResist dropping alongside Digimon Story: Time Stranger and Splatoon Raiders, while an August release would have it coming out with long-awaited ports like Lies of P, Oblivion Remastered, and Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition.

September would arguably be the worst month for a Switch 2 port of 1000xResist to launch, as both Orbitals and Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave are making their console-exclusive debuts that month. September will also see LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, Shinobi: Art of Vengeance, Minecraft Dungeons 2, and 007 First Light come to Nintendo Switch 2, leaving very little wiggle room for those on a tight budget.
