Overwatch 2 Reveals First Set of Survey Skins for 2026

Overwatch 2 Reveals First Set of Survey Skins for 2026

Overwatch 2 recently revealed a bunch of new skin concepts in a recent survey, including cosmetics inspired by fruits, playing cards, and the seven deadly sins. While there is no guarantee these skins will be officially made based on this concept art, there is a chance Overwatch 2 could see them arrive at some point in the future.

A few times every year, Overwatch 2 sends out surveys to select fans that contain concept art for dozens of different hero skins. Some of these ideas, such as the Floral Dreams skins released in Overwatch 2 Season 18, originally appeared in these surveys before making their way to the official game.

A fan-favorite Overwatch 2 character might finally be coming to the game as a new hero, but not without some shocking twists few saw coming.

Now, Overwatch 2 has put out another survey with 38 new skin concepts for its various playable heroes. Collected by Overwatch Cavalry and shared together on Reddit by OW2 player Alive-Psychology6050, these cosmetics are spread across 10 different themes, including cafe, juice bar, futuristic athleisure, playing cards, and the seven deadly sins. The skins themselves feature 23 playable characters, including Overwatch 2‘s newest hero, Vendetta.

While many of these skin themes are incredible, fans have a few complaints about these particular offerings because of the heroes chosen for the skins. Mercy and Kiriko, both notorious for having more skins than most other heroes in Overwatch 2, each appear on this list four times, with Sombra following closely after with three. Meanwhile, other heroes were lucky to get one or two concepts, while others were absent completely. This is especially baffling for characters like Moira or Lucio, who would have perfectly fit the deadly sins and street skater themes, respectively.

When Could Overwatch 2 Release These Skins?

It is important to emphasize that, while this is official concept art, there is no guarantee these skins will make their way into Overwatch 2 proper. Though dozens of skins that first appeared in these Overwatch 2 surveys since they began in December 2023 have become a reality, many more have not. When they do appear, tweaks or exclusions from these lists occur frequently enough that players should expect them to look different from the concept art if they are made. Beyond that, whenever these do make the jump, it usually doesn’t happen until at least nine months later at the earliest, though it more often takes a year or more.

This means the soonest fans might see some skins from this survey would be late 2026, potentially in Overwatch 2 Season 25 or 26. Even so, players shouldn’t get their hopes up, as none of the skins from the three surveys from last year have made an appearance, so concepts from them would likely have to start arriving before any of these new ones would.

Either way, Overwatch 2 Season 21 begins on February 10, bringing a whole new selection of skins to the game. This will include at least one Mythic skin – but given Overwatch 2 Season 19 and 20 being two-Mythic seasons, there could be two of these customizable hero cosmetics in Season 21 as well. Gamers haven’t seen a survey skin added to the game since Season 18, so it wouldn’t be surprising if some appear in the Battle Pass or shop soon. There also hasn’t been a new collaboration since the same season, so fans will have to wait and see if Overwatch 2 kicks off 2026 with a crossover event.
