Overwatch Achieves Higher Daily Player Count Than Its Launch Weekend

Following Overwatch‘s comeback season creating a massive player count spike, the game has now achieved a higher daily player count than at its launch weekend. The last time this was achieved was back in 2022 when Overwatch 2 launched, and far before Marvel Rivals hit the scene. Now that Overwatch is achieving these numbers with other high-quality competitors on the market, it goes to show how much fans are loving the Reign of Talon season. This latest season is the first of a multi-chapter arc that will be running throughout 2026.

A huge factor in the success of the season is the new heroes, who have been described as exciting, high-energy, and a breath of fresh air to the game. One of the new heroes, Jetpack Cat, has already become a sort of meme among fans, with the community finding the idea hilarious but the hero effective.
