Overwatch has a major jump bug, which a Blizzard developer confirmed might take a couple of weeks to fix. With Overwatch being a movement-heavy competitive game, the bug has been an understandably frustrating setback for many players, especially those who are grinding to reach the top rank.
Overwatch is no stranger to bugs affecting anything from the in-game store to hero abilities that could give players an unfair advantage in matches. Overwatch regularly puts out updates to not only release new content, but also address certain issues to ensure a smooth experience for all players. However, the Blizzard title is now experiencing a bug that’s affecting players’ ability to jump.

Overwatch Dev Reveals When the Jump Bug Will Be Fixed
Players started experiencing the jump bug after the release of Overwatch Season 2 just a few days ago. Overwatch game director Aaron Keller said in a tweet that players have been reporting issues with jumping when they have their scoreboards up. He explained further that the fix for this bug would require a full patch update, which will be released in two weeks. Apart from the jump bug, Overwatch also reported issues that would cause keybinds to break when they are set to universal and set for specific heroes.
On Twitter, a number of Overwatch players expressed their disappointment over the jump bug and the timeline of its fix. Meanwhile, there were also players who brought up issues with Overwatch‘s performance on the Switch 2, which Keller said in a separate tweet that they’re already working on and are planning to roll out a fix in the next few days.
Apart from bugs impacting gameplay, Overwatch has been receiving critiques for other features released in Season 2, including the new hero Sierra. Officially launched on April 14, Sierra is the newest recon damage hero who is accompanied by her Anchor Drone named Dorothy. Many Overwatch players have expressed their dissatisfaction with Sierra’s ultimate ability, Trailblazer, calling it overpowered because it allows Dorothy to drop 23 bombs and deal a lot of damage depending on how high the drone is thrown. So far, Overwatch hasn’t addressed players’ issues with Sierra’s ultimate, so it’s still uncertain if she will be nerfed in a future update.

As Blizzard actively fixes known bugs, Overwatch has a lot of content lined up for Reign of Talon Season 2: Summit. This includes the Grand Mesa meta event until May 4; a Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred crossover launching on April 28; Mythic skins for Soldier: 76 and Sumi-Ichimonji Genji’s weapon; and many more coming in the next month. This season has an exciting lineup that could encourage players to log in and grind out matches. However, if Overwatch‘s bugs continue to persist, it might greatly affect the overall reception of Season 2 and its upcoming content releases.
