In Paralives, the life-sim game that aims to provide an alternative to The Sims from a company that doesn’t suck ass, you can build your family from the ground up. Meet a partner, get married, make a life together, and eventually, have babies. But the problem some players are running into is that their simulated babies are ugly as sin. Or if not sin, then at least Bobby Hill.
Not a baby expert but why does this child have bags under its eyes as though it has a full-time job, a mortgage, and kids of its own? There is no infant-like joie de vivre in this baby’s face which, ok, valid, but still. There’s even one baby that has already started growing a mustache that makes him look like John Waters if he got hit with a Babality from Mortal Kombat.
I think the biggest issue is the shape of the eyes and the facial features in proportion to the entire face. Babies have huge heads that are out of proportion with the rest of their body. The small eyes and features settled directly in the middle of the face make the babies look more grown than they should. Fortunately, the developers at Paralives are aware of their ugly-ass babies and are taking steps to remedy the situation. They’ve updated their looks, making them appear more in line with a normal infant that doesn’t look already crushed under the weight of capitalism at just three months old.

The updated babies will go live with Paralives’ next patch in early August, but some folks will miss the aesthetic of the original babies.
