Atlus could open pre-orders for Persona 4 Revival very soon, according to recent reports. Announced during the Xbox Games Showcase almost a year ago, Persona 4 Revival promises updated graphics and gameplay as fans explore the rural town of Inaba. However, official news about the game has been scarce, leaving fans wondering about its development status.
Originally released in 2008, Persona 4 brings together a slice-of-life story and a murder mystery involving the citizens of Inaba. Players control young high school students, along with a mascot named Teddie, who must work together to solve the gruesome killings in their town and also defeat powerful enemies in the TV world. In 2012, developer Atlus released Persona 4 Golden, which is an enhanced version with new content, such as Social Links with Marie and Tohru Adachi, and the new Hollow Forest dungeon to unlock an additional epilogue.
Persona 6 News May Be On the Way After All
Despite fan backlash to the Persona 30th Anniversary live stream, Persona 6 may still get news in the near future, if new evidence is to be believed.
Persona 4 Revival Pre-Order Date Might Be Announced Soon
- Rumored Persona 4 Revival pre-order start date: April 2026
Following the success of Persona 3 Reload, which remade the third mainline game to adopt a gameplay design similar to Persona 5, it was only a matter of time before Atlus released a Persona 4 remake. Although the developer hasn’t announced an official launch date yet, there has been speculation on Persona 4 Revival‘s potential release window, which could fall in the second half of 2026. In a new report by Twitter user osu_MeovvCAT, they said that Persona 4 Revival could come out within the next fiscal year, which starts in April 2026 and ends in March 2027. They surmised that it’s unlikely for Atlus to shadow drop the game in April, but they think that pre-orders for Persona 4 Revival could open in the next month or so.
Rumored Pre-Order Perks For Persona 4 Revival
Additionally, osu_MeovvCAT also reported on Twitter that Persona 4 Revival‘s Steam app added two new packages, which could potentially be Standard and/or Deluxe edition pre-orders of the game. The inclusions of each edition haven’t been disclosed, but looking at the previous pre-order perks of past Persona titles, it usually includes bonus content, such as soundtracks and character cosmetics. Whichever it might be, the potential pre-order phase could kick off early sales for Persona 4 Revival prior to its official release. It’s important to note that Atlus has not confirmed anything yet about Persona 4 Revival‘s pre-order and release dates, so fans should take these rumors with a grain of salt for now.
What Persona 4 Revival’s Rumored Release Calendar Means For Persona 6
Many Persona fans expressed both worry and confusion about Persona 6‘s development status. There have been reports that Persona 6 was allegedly being hindered by Persona 4 Revival‘s development. This was later debunked by insider NateTheHate, who said that the sixth mainline game wasn’t in development hell in Atlus because the Persona 4 remake was reportedly outsourced to Kyoto-based studio Tose Software. There’s also a belief that Persona 6 could still come out before Persona 4 Revival does. However, fans couldn’t help but be worried about Persona 6 once again, especially with the possibility of Persona 4 Revival‘s pre-order phase starting in a few weeks if the rumors turn out to be accurate.
The Persona franchise will celebrate its 30th anniversary in September this year. This has many fans looking forward to big news about upcoming games, especially after the disappointment they felt from Persona‘s anniversary livestream last January, which only shared new merchandise and a Sanrio collaboration. With several months left, Atlus has enough time to prepare its most-anticipated titles, Persona 4 Revival and Persona 6, and perhaps even throw a curveball at fans with another new spin-off.
