Persona and Kura Sushi are teaming up, and now the restaurant chain has announced what special entrees it will be offering based upon the popular JRPG series. Fans of the Persona franchise won’t want to miss out on this collaboration, which is being held to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the series.
Although this year marks the 30th anniversary of the Persona franchise, there’s already plenty in the future for fans to look forward to. Persona 6 was finally revealed with a short teaser during the Summer Game Fest, and Persona 4 is getting a full-fledged remake with Persona 4 Revival, which will arrive in 2027. For the immediate future, though, Persona fans should rev up their appetites for an upcoming collab.
Following the reveal that Persona and Kura Sushi would be collaborating, Kura Sushi has revealed what special dishes will be on offer. Kura Sushi typically offers a few special menu items to go with its collaborations, and Persona is no exception, with three special dishes based upon Persona 3, 4, and 5 on offer. Persona 3‘s offering is the Weird Takyoyaki Roll, which wraps takoyaki in sushi rice and seaweed, tempura-fries it, and tops it with mayo, green onion, and bonito. Persona 4 gets the Rainy Day Special Beef Bowl, which is sushi rice topped with sukiyaki beef and a soft-boiled egg. Persona 5 gets the Calling Card Tuna Roll, which is negitoro and cucumber wrapped in seaweed and rice, rolled in sesame seeds, and topped with tuna, mayo, spicy garlic, and fried onion.

As fans of the franchise may notice, the dishes available for the Persona Kura Sushi collab are all based upon in-game icons. Weird Takoyaki is a consumable item in Persona 3, while Persona 4 has a special rainy day-exclusive beef bowl challenge that players can partake in. Persona 5‘s is a reference to the calling cards sent by the Phantom Thieves, and appropriately contains plenty of tuna, which is notably Mona’s favorite. Fans unfamiliar with the chain should be aware that buying the Persona-specific menu items isn’t necessary to get the special Persona-themed prizes. Prizes are awarded based on the number of plates a customer purchases, though, so orders will count towards that goal.
At this time, a start date for the collab still hasn’t been announced. However, it’s likely that it will begin as soon as the current collaborative Honkai: Star Rail event comes to a close, which is scheduled for July 31. Fans should be aware that Kura Sushi collaborations have a tendency to be quite popular, so supplies of prizes may run out quickly. Visiting sooner than later may be the wisest course of action for those who don’t want to miss out.
Though the year is now half over, celebrations of the series aren’t necessarily dying down just yet. In addition to this collab, Persona 5 crossed over with Call of Duty Mobile in July, and a new live-action Persona series from Netflix has been announced. Fans will have to wait and see what other surprises may be lying in wait for Persona‘s celebration of its 30th anniversary, but chances are the Kura Sushi collaboration isn’t the end of it.
