PlayStation Plus has revealed a new promotional code that gives subscribers four new avatars inspired by Helldivers 2. The game was recently added to the PlayStation Plus catalog and also received a massive update on August 12, which likely prompted this new promotion.
Fans have been excited about all the new features coming with Helldivers 2‘s August update. According to developer Arrowhead, players’ contributions toward the goal of eliminating 500 million Voteless have been quite impressive in the short span of time since the patch’s launch. Now, all PlayStation Plus users can claim freebies to show they are proud Helldivers currently fighting the Illuminate faction.

A new cosmetic bundle called Patriotic Portraits gives all PlayStation Plus members a chance to claim four new avatars, each showing a Helldiver in a different pose. One of the most interesting avatars depicts the trooper performing the game’s iconic “salute” pose. The other avatars are also inspired by Helldivers 2 emotes, including the “Silence” signal. Players do not need to own the game to claim these freebies, though the promotion is exclusively available to PlayStation Plus members.

PlayStation Plus members were also able to collect PS5 and PS4 PSN avatars based on Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls superheroes when that game released, along with some other in-game cosmetic items. Both Helldivers 2 and Marvel Tokon are exclusively available on PlayStation 5 consoles. However, their thematic avatar packs can be used by users on Sony’s previous-gen console, the beloved PlayStation 4.

Another iconic PlayStation franchise is also giving away some interesting items to players in August 2026. Until the end of the month, players can claim two limited-edition Gran Turismo 7 race cars at no cost. The promotion doesn’t require a PS Plus membership, and anyone who owns the game can participate while the event lasts.
Aside from the current Helldivers 2 freebies, August is going to be an exciting month for PlayStation Plus subscribers of the Premium and Extra tiers.
