A few weeks ago, fans were debating the existence of a new Mew card in the Pokémon TCG’s 30th anniversary set with an apparent “RGB” rarity mark referencing the original Red, Green, and Blue games. Now, a TCG insider has claimed the card is real and might be the game’s rarest ever, with a pull rate of just 1 in 20,000 packs.
Pokémon collectibles content creator TheCardScience claimed earlier this week (via Dexerto) to have spoken with someone who works at Millennium Print Group, which manufactures Pokémon cards, who personally confirmed the RGB Mew exists. It comes in three tinted variants that look like photo negatives. What’s more, it’s rumored to be the rarest card ever produced, with a pull rate that dwarfs the TCG’s other rarest chase cards.

To put this in perspective, cards from the Perfect Order set like Mega Hyper Rare Mega Zygarde ex have a pull rate of roughly 1 in 1786 packs, according to TCG Player. The mysterious RGB Mew cards would seemingly be much rarer even than the recent Futuristic Rare Mews and Mewtwo cards that have leaked ahead of release and gone up for sale on eBay, generating early bids over $1,000.
The Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration anniversary set isn’t supposed to officially go on sale until September 16, but packs frequently leak early due to black-market transactions surrounding the facilities where the cards are made or shipped. We won’t know what the deal is with these new Mew cards, or whether there are RGB Mewtwo cards, until the set is out. It’ll take millions of players ripping packs open to get a better sense of whether their pull rates are actually 1 in 20,000, too.
In the meantime, there’s nearly four weeks left for fans to pore over drip-feed reveals and rogue leaks. After that, the scalper-fueled madness will really begin.
