Pokémon Disappear In Pokopia, Here’s How To Get Them Back

Pokémon Disappear In Pokopia, Here’s How To Get Them Back

There are 300 known Pokémon that can live in your towns in Pokopia. However, as players have found out, the game won’t actually render each of them at once, and that means it’s possible you can run around an entire area searching for one of them and not be able to find them. This is especially annoying if the missing Pokémon helps you with a certain task but is nowhere to be found. This isn’t a bug, but finding a missing monster can be a bit of a hassle.

So what’s going on here? Fans have found that only around 30 Pokémon will show up in an area at once, and any excess ones will essentially “despawn” to make space for others. There are four main maps in Pokopia, so if you do the math, you’re not going to be able to see most Pokémon in your towns at the same time. So how do you find someone who’s mysteriously vanished due to technical constraints? It’s one of Pokopia’s more annoying processes, and one that I hope Game Freak and Omega Force streamline in a future patch. For now, you open the Pokédex to the page for the critter you’re looking for and press the plus button to “search” for them. You’ll then have to ask another Pokémon close by if they’ve seen them.

If the Pokémon you’re looking for is currently spawned into the world, the person you ask will point you in their direction. If they aren’t, the people you ask will remark that they haven’t seen them lately, and that’s when you know you have to take the next step. Head to the missing Pokémon’s home, either by walking or by asking a Pokémon that knows Teleport to take you there. Once you arrive, you can use Honey to have the Pokémon spawn nearby. Someone else will then be sent to despawn jail, but now you’ll know how to bring them back when you need them, as frustrating as it is that the workaround for this problem is a consumable resource you might not have on you.

Do keep in mind that if you whip out the Honey in a home that houses multiple Pokémon, all of them will spawn at the same time and they’ll all chase you while trying to get a sweet treat, which leads to crazy clips like this:
