It’s very common for the game to introduce variants of various critters wearing costumes, hats, or other peculiar cosmetic items, and these Pokemon can commonly be shiny, too. Pokemon GO’s 10th Anniversary Rare Gimmighoul Variant is Making Its Debut
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the game, Pokemon GO is adding a unique Gimmighoul variant that bears an anniversary coin with the number 10 on its back instead of its usual one. Unlike other variants that are coming back for the event, such as Pikachu wearing a cake hat, Eevee wearing a party hat, and Wurmple with a party hat, the difference between the regular Gimmighoul and the 10th anniversary variant is not as apparent. This makes it hard to tell apart from the regular version. The Pokemon GO Gimmighoul variant will have a chance to appear with a Special Background, and using a Coin Bag can make Gimmighoul show up as shiny.
- The Pokemon GO 10th Anniversary Party event launches on Saturday, July 4, at 10 am local time and ends on Monday, July 6, at 8 pm local time.
- The 10th anniversary Gimmighoul is available for the entire month of July 2026.
