Pokemon GO has revealed its new GO Pass, as well as many of the rewards players can expect to find throughout the month of April. Pokemon GO is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, and that means players can expect to see all kinds of celebrations over the coming months. Since debuting in 2016, the game has become a vital part of the Pokemon franchise, thanks in large part to its constantly evolving gameplay and its compatibility with mainline games like Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
In April 2025, Pokemon GO developer Niantic first introduced the GO Pass, following the success of the Tour Pass. The GO Pass has become a monthly progression track that rewards players for earning points in the game. All players are able to participate in the GO Pass for free, but each month is accompanied by a paid deluxe tier, which includes additional rewards that can be earned by players.

Pokemon GO players will be able to unlock rewards with April’s GO Pass, which will begin on April 7 at 10 a.m. local time and will run through May 5 at 10 a.m. local time. Players can earn rewards, including Stardust, XP, Max Particles, and other bonuses. The highlight for the month of April is an encounter with the Legendary Pokemon Entei, which has a chance of appearing Shiny. That encounter won’t happen until players reach level 100, so it should take some time to unlock. Pokemon GO has offered multiple ways to obtain Entei over the years, but this should be a welcome opportunity for those who still need one.
As players reach specific milestones in the new GO Pass, they’ll unlock special bonuses. At rank 25, Pokemon GO will allow users to open up to 40 Gifts each day, hold an additional 10 Gifts in their bag, and receive up to 125 Gifts each day by spinning the Photo Discs at Gyms and PokeStops. Rank 50 doubles the duration of Daily Adventure Incense, while rank 75 offers more Stardust and XP from hatching Eggs. GO Pass deluxe owners will get additional bonuses at rank 25, including the option to open 50 Gifts each day, storage capacity for 20 more Gifts, and the ability to obtain 150 Gifts per day from Gyms and PokeStops.
Players can upgrade to April’s GO Pass deluxe tier, which will cost $7.99. The highlights this time around include a Lucky Trinket, a Super Incubator, and more encounters with Pokemon. The Lucky Trinket was introduced in Pokemon GO last summer and will turn any Friend into a Lucky Friend. The Lucky Trinket obtained from the GO Pass has an expiration date of May 12 at 11:59 p.m. local time, so players should keep that in mind. Those who purchase the paid upgrade will receive rewards from both the standard and deluxe tiers. Additionally, there are options to purchase more expensive versions of the deluxe tier, which arrive with several ranks already unlocked.
Pokemon GO fans will have to wait a few days for the new GO Pass to begin, but there is an option in the meantime. Following the conclusion of the March GO Pass, the GO Pass: A Shockingly Good Time was added to the game. This limited-time GO Pass focuses predominantly on Electric-type Pokemon, but it’s also a celebration of Mimikyu’s debut in Pokemon GO. Those who purchase the deluxe version of GO Pass: A Shockingly Good Time will be able to unlock a Mimikyu top avatar item based on the Pokemon’s disguised form. This Pokemon’s in-game debut has been teased for several years now, with a Mimikyu-inspired costumed Pikachu added back in 2021, and even Mimikyu avatar items coming to the game long before the Ghost-type was actually available to catch.
