Pokemon Goldfish Crackers Are Officially Making a Comeback

Goldfish has confirmed it will officially be bringing back its popular collaboration with Pokemon to celebrate the franchise’s 30th anniversary. The crossover will feature Pokemon-themed packaging on Goldfish bags designed around the three Kanto starters and Pikachu.

Pokemon‘s merchandising has stretched far beyond the games, TCG, and anime series that make up the core of the franchise. Pokemon has produced children’s toys based on its large roster of creatures since the early days of the franchise, and has experimented with board games, apparel, and even a recent LEGO collaboration. The Pokemon Company has even teamed up with plenty of iconic food brands throughout the years for Pokemon-themed snacks, including Hershey’s, Oreo, and many more. Now, a Pokemon collaboration with Goldfish, which debuted in 2025, is returning with brand-new packaging for Pokemon‘s 30th anniversary.

Pokemon Winds and Waves Are Literally Too Big to Repeat the Switch 1 Games’ Biggest Mistake

Pokemon Winds and Waves are allegedly going to have the biggest map yet in the series, and it’s time to fix the most lamented issue in Gen 8 and 9.

A brand-new collaboration between Goldfish and Pokemon will splash some of the franchise’s most beloved creatures on the snacks’ packaging. The crossover will debut four different designs for Goldfish bags, featuring Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, and Pikachu front and center. Each of the original Pokemon Red and Blue starters will feature special Goldfish crackers modeled after each Pokemon’s head, while Pikachu’s Goldfish crackers are designed after the franchise mascot leaping into the air. All of the Pokemon Goldfish bags are confirmed to be in the standard cheddar flavor, with the Pikachu bags confirmed to be exclusive to Walmart and Target. Pokemon‘s new Goldfish collaboration is scheduled to hit store shelves in May.

Pokemon‘s new partnership with Goldfish is accompanied by a special giveaway from the snack brand. Goldfish is set to kick off a new sweepstakes starting on May 1, with winners getting the chance to visit the Pokemon Fossil Museum at Chicago’s Field Museum. The Pokemon-themed museum exhibit features several fossil replicas modeled after Pokemon skeletons, also serving to teach fans about paleontology with comparisons to real dinosaur skeletons. Goldfish has not shared any specifics yet about how fans or customers will be able to enter the giveaway.

The Pokemon franchise has been pulling out all the stops to kick off its 30th anniversary with a bang. The annual Pokemon Day livestream came with many major announcements for the series, including the next main-series games in Pokemon Winds and Waves. The broadcast was coupled with a new re-release for Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen, marking the first time the Kanto remakes have been released on platforms other than the Game Boy Advance. The Pokemon TCG also announced its own commemorative expansion for the 30th anniversary, with a special set coming later in 2026 and including reprints of iconic cards from throughout the game’s history.

Pokemon is celebrating its anniversary in a multitude of ways outside the franchise’s core offerings as well. The previously mentioned LEGO collaboration made waves throughout the fanbase, debuting a full LEGO set based around the Kanto starters’ final evolutions, alongside smaller kits for Eevee and Pikachu. The anniversary stream even announced a special new piece of Pokemon merchandise, revealing a Game Boy-shaped music player featuring the entire soundtrack for Pokemon Red and Blue. Pokemon‘s 30th anniversary offers plenty to be excited about, between new games and exciting collaborations.
