Pokemon Leaker May Hint at Legends Galar Ahead of Pokemon Day

Pokemon Day is fast approaching, and a renowned Pokemon leaker may be hinting at the rumored Legends: Galar game with a social media post. Pokemon Legends: Z-A is still a relatively fresh release, as it came out on October 16 and had its Mega Dimension DLC drop just weeks later, on December 10. However, Pokemon‘s 30th anniversary happens in just four days, on February 27, and The Pokemon Company has promised a huge year-long celebration, with more games likely just around the corner. The most talked about, and almost guaranteed announcement, is tied to Gen 10 games, but more new releases and updates are on the way.

First discussed as a potential continuation of the Legends series, the leak of Pokemon Legends: Galar came from the most recent TeraLeak in October 2025. This game was mentioned in internal documents from Game Freak, and it was described as set in ancient Galar, way before the very first Poke Ball was created in the Pokemon universe. Some mechanics were included, too, such as players creating horde-like parties of Pokemon reminiscent of the Pikmin series to battle Dynamax or Gigantamax critters. Pokemon Legends: Galar leaks subsided since, but a new tweet from Riddler Khu reignites the discussion.

If a sequel to Pokemon Legends: Arceus takes place in the Galar Region’s past, it would likely feature several Legendaries and Mythicals in its story.

Today, renowned leaker Riddler Khu took to Twitter/X with the image of the Pokemon 30th anniversary logo, this time with a Hisuian Voltorb. This is part of a new wave of promotional material to celebrate 30 years of Pokemon, and logos with a “30” and every single Pokemon in existence were made. Riddler Khu then reposted the logo for Hisuian Voltorb with the emoji of a face with sunglasses, which is extremely likely to be a leak. Considering that Pokemon Legends: Galar is said to be set before the first Poke Ball was ever made, choosing Hisuian Voltorb, a Poke Ball-like Pokemon, feels quite intentional.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus is a Gen 8 game, releasing at the rear end of the Sword and Shield era.
Pokemon Legends: Z-A‘s new Mega Evolutions were one of the most popular parts of the game, and most of them were praised by fans for their designs.
Pokemon Legends: Galar tackling the Dynamax phenomenon with unique G-Max forms and moves would be a great follow-up release, with a lot of potential for the gimmick to shine again and then come back in full force in Pokemon Champions.

Why The Leak May Be For Legends: Arceus on Switch 2

There is also a much less exciting option for Khu’s tweet, though. Given that it represents a Pokemon exclusive to Pokemon Legends: Arceus, and seeing how Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen are launching on Switch and Switch 2 on Pokemon Day, there is also the possibility that this leak is for a Switch 2-optimized version of PLA. This idea also has its merits, as Pokemon Legends: Arceus has been heavily criticized for its graphics since launch, with the game holding up very poorly now, even after the debacle of Gen 9’s performance issues.

The timeline doesn’t seem to align perfectly for a Pokemon Legends: Galar announcement, as it would likely be at least a couple of years away, but it’s not out of the question given the scope of the franchise’s 30th anniversary. Also, a Switch 2 version of Pokemon Legends: Arceus may be received negatively by the community if it’s a separate purchase, and making it an upgrade pack for $10 could still backfire, considering the $15 pricetag of Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen. For now, fans will have to wait and see, but Riddler Khu typically shares these posts ahead of official events to hint at the upcoming announcements.
