Back in January, ex-Pokémon Company director of engineering Ben Tsai was arrested for allegedly setting up cameras in the bathrooms of both the company’s Bellevue office and some local stores. Now, Pokémon Company employees are suing the company in a class action lawsuit.
TMZ reports that a woman going by the pseudonym of Jane Doe has filed the lawsuit against The Pokémon Company, claiming it failed to “protect employees and visitors” from Tsai due to inadequate supervision and not addressing the signs of his alleged behavior. The woman claims to have worked for The Pokémon Company for five years, and is looking to represent anyone who visited the office and used the restrooms between 2017 and July 2026.
Local authorities say that they found “hundreds” of videos from inside the Pokémon office bathroom, as well as some originating from a local Starbucks, and some from Tsai’s home. The Pokémon Company released a statement to TMZ saying, “Our focus remains on the well-being of our employees. We are unable to comment further on pending litigation.”
Tsai was charged with “first-degree dealing in depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct, first-degree possession of those depictions, first-degree voyeurism, and second-degree possession of depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct” last month, and Tsai’s lawyer Bradley G. Barshis told Law360 that Tsai “will enter pleas of not guilty to all charges, meaning he is presumed innocent throughout these cases, and unless things should change, we have no further comment.”
The original report from Seattle Times in January said Tsai allegedly claimed to be ““mainly curious about transgender people and was not attracted to children.”
