A new theory indicates that Pokemon Winds and Waves could include a new Pokemon form with a connection to former United States President Barack Obama. Shellos Pokemon are inspired by real-world sea slugs, and back in 2017, a new kind of yellow sea slug was discovered in the real world. That sea slug was given an official name of Placida barackobamai, with Barack Obama’s name used as inspiration as a way of giving him a nod for his efforts towards environmental conservation. It’s possible that yellow sea slug could be what a future yellow Shellos will be based upon.

Given Pokemon Winds and Waves‘ emphasis on island habitats and the ocean, it seems likely that the game will introduce new forms of existing Pokemon with variations based on the game’s location.
