Pokemon Winds and Waves Leaks Gyms and Elite Four Types

Pokemon Winds and Waves Leaks Gyms and Elite Four Types

Pokemon Winds and Waves’ news may be far and few between, but it has proven to be quite the leaky ship for gaming giant Nintendo. Recently, several new evolutions and Pokemon leaked online for the upcoming open-world games, and it’s worth noting that fans have possibly also learned 13 brand-new regional variants/forms for Pokemon Winds and Waves.

Namely, Drowzee, Psyduck, Shellos, Nincada, Houndour, Zweilous, Onix, Clamperl, Pikachu, Lucario, Kecleon, Arcanine, and Salandit are all set to either receive a brand-new regional variant or one of the new weather forms coming in Pokemon Winds and Waves—the Castform-like gimmick believed to happen in the new region. It remains to be seen if any of these new Pokemon are used by Gym Leaders or the Elite Four, but it would not be surprising when looking at the range of types on display.

Pokemon Winds and Waves Leaks 7 Brand-New Pokemon

A new Pokemon Winds and Waves leak surfaces online, showing for the first time ever seven new Gen 10 Pokemon.

Pokemon Winds and Waves Gym and Elite Four Leak Explained

Before explaining the leaked types, it’s worth noting that Pokemon Winds and Waves are believed to feature a similar open-world structure to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, meaning that multiple storylines take players through Gym Leaders, special Frenzied Noble/Rogue Mega-like battles, and so forth. As such, it’s possible that these gyms could be challenged in any order, but the Gyms are believed to be:

  • Grass
  • Poison
  • Flying
  • Fighting
  • Dark
  • Normal
  • Steel
  • Fairy

Out of the 18 standard Pokemon types, removing those 8 leaves 10—and the Majin Battles, the special Pokemon battles, include 6 types: Fire, Psychic, Ice, Ground, Rock, and Ghost. That leaves four, which logically are left behind for The Elite Four: Electric, Water, Bug, and Dragon. And these are honestly not all that surprising. While there has never been an Electric-type specialist in the Elite Four before, Water-types have appeared at the end of Gym challenges before, Bugs often find themselves at the start or near the end (as is the case with Aaron), and Dragon is pretty much a mainstay for endgame Gym/Elite Four challenges.

  • Electric
  • Water
  • Bug
  • Dragon

Of course, it’s worth noting that the nature of these Pokemon Winds and Waves leaks means things are subject to change. Even the whole region map of Pokemon Winds and Waves leaked online, and while that is a strong indicator of the upcoming content, it’s not a guarantee. This info comes from leaked documentation as part of the Teraleak, but even that info was much earlier in the game’s development by now. So, it would not be surprising to see some types moved around, but it’s a pretty strong indicator of what’s coming in the new Pokemon games: a little old, a little new, and hopefully an immersive Pokemon experience.

For now, fans shouldn’t hold their breath waiting for news. Pokemon Winds and Waves are set for a 2027 release, so even if news comes this year, it won’t likely be until later. Hopefully, though, 2027 ends up being a massive year for the franchise, as the Gen 10 games are hotly anticipated by many fans.
